Wow, lots of chatting on here over the w/end. Have had various things going on here, so not been able to contribute much.

    BB
    - Sorry you're still feeling so poorly. Has having your injection again had any benefit at all? Thinking of you, and hoping you improve soon. x

Mazza - sounds like you've had a horrible virus, but good on you for getting the NHS Direct to organise the anti-B's for you. Best thing when you're that ill. I think there are a fair few nasty bugs going around at the mo, and then we'll head into the autumn/winter when we'll all be full of colds again.

Welcome back JayII. Stick with us to get maximum benefits of the support and advice.

Victory - enjoy the last couple of days you have in Spain, and try not to think too much about the return to work. Brace yourself for the cooler weather back here again too, temp. has defnitely dropped a fair few degrees this past week.

I have to confess to not eating very sensibly over the w/end, but it was one of the rare occasions when I was out socialising, and eating out, which OH and I don't do often. Saturday night we decided to go to the pictures and have a pizza beforehand. It's been absolutely ages since we last did that, probably a year or more ago. We went to see Inception, and it was pretty good. Complicated story line, but that's a good thing, as it kept me awake! OH has never forgiven me for falling asleep in the cinema when we went to see Taledaga Nights on his birthday a couple of years back. He now checks me regularly for signs of snoozing and drooling when we go. We shared a pizza, and had a salad with it. I had less than half the pizza, and wasn't stuffed, but just pleasantly satisfied afterwards, but the calories will have been high I'm sure. Then yesterday we were invited to a BBQ by our friend, who I did a big favour for last week, and she wanted to say thank you to us both for helping her out. I was sensible enough, with only 1 skinny sausage, a drumstick, half a baked spud & salad, with a spoonful of chilli, but I did then have a portion of the h/m baked cheesecake I'd taken along as a contribution, and then she sent us home with some too, which we ate for tea! Hoping to make amends all this week now.

Had some news too, which I feel mixed emotions about. My dad died on Saturday afternoon, however I've been estranged from my parents for a long time now, so it's like in my mind I lost my dad years ago, but now I know he's really gone, IYKWIM? One of my sisters rang to tell me, and she had been at his bedside with my 2 other sisters when he passed away. I know they'll probably all be really upset about his passing, but I just feel numb. I dont' have any intention to attend the funeral, as I don't think it would be appropriate, and rather hypocritical too. I do know that I sometimes tend to not be able to access the reality of my feelings sometimes, which I presume is a fail-safe state I default into, but on this occasion, I do think it's to do with not having had a relationship with him for so long, however when I was growing up, he was the main parent in my life (despite my parents actually being together), because my mother was useless. The estrangement came when I was in my mid-20's, and I took a long time to make the decision to not have contact with them. Anyway, I'm waffling, but I thought I'd mention it.

I also still have my car off the road. OH thought he'd fixed the problem, replacing an EGR valve, took it out for a test drive, and thought the steering was very odd, and told him I felt it was unsafe. He was totally confused because the steering is unrelated to the other problem we've had, he took the wheels off to check for me, and found one of the front suspension coil springs has snapped! Now need to replace that, and it doesn't look like an easy fit either. Why are modern cars made so bl00dy complicated? I know, it's because they want you to book it into the garage for them to do, but OH has enough tools & mechanical knowledge to do it, if they'd just make it accessible. You have to dismantle the top of the car to reach the damper to remove/re-fit the spring on my car! Stupid French crock of sh0!te.

In the meantime, I think I'll go sit with the cucumbers in the greenhouse, and pray for some decent weather to come along soon. Why did summer have to go off to Russia this year?

    hi everyone

Sary sorry to hear the loss of your father.

puddings, well done on losing 5lb! even after 'cakegate'

vix what does the beyonce diet entail? apart from shaking your bootay!

sorry anyone i haven't replied to, just having a manic day and popped in to say hello.

Feel as though i might as well give up and let myself get bigger and bigger. just had the most ridiculous food-fest weekend ever...
    items consumed include:
    jerk chicken with coconut rice
    crepe
    massive pizza
    olives and feta
    box of jaffa cakes
    packet of custard creams
    potato wedges
    coke
    beer
    wine
:eek:the list goes on but i am too ashamed to continue !!:eek:

Polished off the rest of the pizza for lunch and finished the jaffa cakes too. at least once they are gone they are gone.

I feel about 100stone now and i look pregnant! :( AND i'm giong out for dinner with an old friend tonight - not sure whether to have a small salad and start feeling better or just say 'oh sod it' and have a big fatty burger as a final blowout before jumping back on the wagon. Will be a battle of wills when the waitor takes our order!!

got a big family do on sunday and I am really dreading it, I always feel so fat and ugly at these things (skinny family) with shorts that are tight and flabby bingo wings.

SW has gone right out of the window too, I just dont seem to be able to stick to it as I can't afford to keep on restocking my fruit and veg at the mo.

Anyone know a good detox regime????
