and i hope you have a really good holiday victory - dont worry about that 4lbs, it will straighten itself out either next time or the time after. Are you flying to your hols? i bet youre slim enough to not need a seatbelt extension straps on the plane ... do you know that they make those straps in two colours - bright orange or bright yellow i didnt think that they could be any less discrete or humiliating..... until on one flight they made a tannoy announcement"can the man who requested a seatbelt extension please press the call button" i just wanted to die on the spot :-(
Thanks:D no I do not need a seatbelt extension but my last flight last year I sat next to a man who did need one and I personally wanted to strangle the air stewardess who was making a huge fuss over it/him/trying to get it fastened up, I so wanted to snatch it out of her hand and tell her to &^^** off that I would do it as the man looked as if he was going to weep with all the over exposure that he so did not want or need, for christ sake large or otherwise he is who he is now back off, I wasn't happy, turned out we helped each other he helped me with the fear of flying and I helped him by just talking to him:D0 -
annoyed with myself and my lack of will power - been doing well until had a portion of dad's calorific lasagne last night for tea and succumbed to peer pressure to have a slice of cake at the work meeting this morning.
Going to the gym after work so just need to do a bit extra to burn it off0 -

Always a good sign of things going the right way!0 -
No chance to weigh in this morning as had to be in work by 7am and I left getting up a little late. Feel all bloated at the moment and achey going upstairs, a sure sign that I've put too much weight back on. Although I am supposed to be going to a cider and cheese night tonight so the plan is limited cider drinking (fairly easy as it makes me feel tipsy immediately) and absolutely no cheese. Lets see how my willpower stands up to the bad influences I work with!0

Tut 1lb on this week, very fed up. I reeeally need to cut down on all those little snacks I have during work hours which I think won't make any difference but clearly do.
Upping my exercise until next weigh in which hopefully will make a difference, so fingers crossed will be posting a loss next week.0 -
no loss for me this week
things seem to have really dried up on the weightloss front..
did go away for the weekend and have been craving chocolate.
Need to get back to the exercise big time next week.

Evening all.
I can't believe it's been a week since I last looked at this thread. I must have been busy.
I've just got back from a couple of days up in N/E Yorks, where I was staying on the coast, and had a reunion with my very first best friend, who I met when I was 4. We lost touch after her family relocated when we were early teens, but we were a very inseperable duo throughout primary school. Through the power of friends reunited & facebook, I managed to find one of her sisters, and eventually her, a couple of years back. She now lives abroad, but was back in the UK to visit family, and to have a short holiday. We joined them during their holiday week, and golly it was just like old times. I cannot tell you how marvellous it was to see her again, and I could die a very happy woman now I've seen her again. I met her children and her husband too, who were all very lovely also, and my children all got on with her's, and my BF also liked them all very much, so it couldn't have gone more perfectly. We spent a lovely afternoon yesterday at Robin Hood's Bay, walking up and down the beach, and then a couple of very steep climbs back up the pathway from the beach up to the top of the cliffs to where we'd parked the car.
Unfortunately I've gone down with what I think is the start of a cold now, as my throat is so sore, and swollen, and I can hardly swallow. It's good for the diet though, because I can't eat much now, so soup and toast for dinner tonight.
TOTM looms, due any day, so I wasn't expecting much this week, and have to be happy with a 0.5lb loss. Having seen pictures of me taken this past weekend, I definitely need to keep my head down & focussed to keep going now. If any of you need a motivator, get someone to take a few pictures of you, especially sitting down and not posing... that'll soon get you away from the fridge!
Margaretclare - I thoroughly enjoyed my short time spent in Ireland, and agree that they are very welcoming, and that the food is wonderful and nutritious. I've never seen so many vegetables served with just 1 meal, when I was there. I hope you enjoy your swimming, and hope that 74kg isn't too far away for you again. Vix I think it can be said of many places, that any preconceptions, are usually just that, and never like the reality. A bit like Eastenders is nothing like the real London (sorry to disappoint anyone!), which is far more multi-cultural, often more drab, and in places more vibrant, and the north isn't always grim, but can be stunningly beautiful. My suggestion would be to just get out there, and experience it for yourself.
Victory - what hard luck with such a big gain for you this week! What's that all about? You've either been sleep eating, or your body is playing tricks with you again. I know you always follow everything to the letter, and if you'd had a big blip last week, you'd have known it was a gain due to you. Is there anything at all that's different, even under-eating a bit before your holiday? I know you don't eat many carbs anyway, but I wonder if going for a very fresh fruit/veg/fish based diet up to Saturday may help shed any water, or potential bloating? Families can be insensitive at the best of times, and you know in advance what your's might be like. Just remember to toughen up that skin of your's before you board that plane in readiness for their tactless remarks. Any chance you might have a few of your own cutting remarks to throw into the mix? Does anyone have horrendous hair, or a hairy upper lip that you've just been dying to mention for years?
Eric - please remember to use the bl00dy heart monitor, that's what it was bought for wasn't it? If I was SWMBO I'd be cracking the whip about you to keep you in line I reckon.
neilers - I've often been ambushed by a lasagne, and been press-ganged into eating cake, it's just what happens.
Betty - I have the same issue with having cupboards & freezer with food in that needs to be eaten up, but it's not always very diet friendly. My way of combatting it, is that I just have to have smaller portions of them, and I use a smaller plate, or I forego something like the potatoes with the meat/sausages, in favour of some veggies, or try to include them in a meal like a casserole, where it's bulked out with good stuff. Other times I go without something altogether, give it to the rest of the family and eat a bowl of cereal. Of course, that's all happening when I'm being 'good'. Just keep logging your food intake anyway, and calorie count. Use something like foodfocus.com if it'll help. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -

Well done to all the losers this week :TRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed
Need to loose 25lb / 3lb lost so far0 -
Got a shock to discover, I've got another stone and half to enter the "healthy" for my height weight. I really can't imagine being as thin as it says. 11st seems a wee bit skinny for my height. Remember when I got down to 12 st and people thought I looked too thin to be me and were concerned that I was losing it too fast. But really can't picture me being 11st. And that's the maximum healthy weight for my height
Dunno if I'm deluding myself or if those things are a bit wonky, but i really don't want to be that thin. Am I alone in thinking that or is that what I should be aiming for?4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
