Hi Peeps, some may remember me from a few years ago when I lost a shed load of weight for my wedding, I went from 112kg (17.5st) and a size 20-22 to 74kgs (11.5st) and a size 12 unfortunately over the last couple of years the weight has slowly crept back on. I'm too scared to weigh myself but I'm pretty sure I'm heavier now than I was when I started then.
Last night I saw myself with nothing on for the first time in a year or more and frankly I was disgusted, so today was the first day back on the healthy eating plan. So far today I've had a bowl of cereal, a tuna and mayo sandwich (half tbl spoon mayo), a tangerine and some oven baked fish & chips. Ooh I also had a can of pepsi max and one pub measure of whisky topped up with diet coke.
I'm not currently doing a "plan" because its more a case of me eating the wrong things in mass volume, but I've decided if I'm still going at this time next week I will sign up to the Tesco ediets (what I did before).
I hope to stop by here often. See you around!
welcome, I am sure you can get back on track
I would suggest that you weigh yourself and tack a pic of yourself. I found its a very important part of accepting that you need to change your lifestyle. If you can not face up to the reality of the situation it will be very hard to deal with imo in the long term. To loose weight and to keep it off it has to be a permant lifestyle change, a short term diet never works, it always comes back as soon as you return to your old ways. I know I am the master yo yo dieter
good luck0 -
I'm laughin at vix here, wouldn't North Yorkshire put her in the Naughty Northerners camp? Or is my geography more screwed up than yours? :rotfl:
abdonz - cutting out the snacking is easier said than done, but doing it you can see drastic weight loss! That's how I started. Could use going back to it now tbh but hey ho one day at a time!
Fellpony- thoughts are with you and ure DD for this week and the future hon, hope all goes well.

I've also been too scared to weigh myself cos I don't want to face reality! But I am cutting out the rubbish and making a real effort this time to shift the weight and get healthy. The swimming is going well but I still find it a bit of a struggle with the back problems. Getting there though and its good to find out what other people are up to.0

welcome safesound
haha alliwant i can assure you we were not posh - we were being very silly and giggling at the posh people and the staff seemed very bemused by how uncomfortable we were with all the mad cutlery and silver service!! hehe it was a right laugh tho and amazing food - if you're after a lovely lunch in London for a special occasion i'd definately reccommend it - 3 courses for £30catlover47 wrote: »I've also been too scared to weigh myself cos I don't want to face reality! swimming is meant to be a great gentle form of exercise for the whole body, so hopefully your back wont be too much of a problem, and hopefully it will improve as the water supports it and your muscles strengthen.-1lb this week.

Yeah, I intend to do that today. I'll weigh myself on my wiifit and take a nuddy pic in the mirror to spur myself along at times of temptation (its enough to put me off eating in and of itself). I dont want to go down to a size 12, I'd be happy at a size 16.:A:A:A:A:A:A0 -
Hi everyone, I'm new to this part of the forum but certainly not to new to trying to lose weight.
I lost almost 3 stone last year on weightwatchers but stopped going when my group had to close down and tried to do it myself but failed . I'm aware that I comfort eat and this past year has been very stressful and worrying and no matter how many times I tried to get back on track by myself I just couldn't.
I have put all the weight I lost back on and feel so down because it's getting cold and I have no warm clothes that fit me anymore. Due to lack of money I can't buy more and don't really want to as it feels like accepting that I will always be this weight which I don't want. On Sunday my sister rang to say that she was starting WW again and would I like to go, she even offered to pay for me as an Xmas pressie as I can't really afford it at the mo. So we are going to start tonight and hopefully I can get back into WW mode and be just overweight by Christmas!

Betty it is really easy to make and a lovely colour
Beetroot Borsch
Ingredients- 1kg/2¼lb beetroot
- 450g/1lb carrots
- 8 shallots
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped roughly
- 1 stick of celery, chopped roughly
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tbsp caraway seeds
- enough stock to cover the vegetables with about half a pint left over
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Peel and roughly chop the vegetables. Place in a large pan with the bay leaf and caraway seeds.
- Cover with the stock. Bring to a rapid boil. Cover the pan and reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for about 1 hour or until the vegetables are tender.
- Remove the bay leaf and liquidise the soup until smooth, adjust the seasoning. Pass the soup through a medium sieve.
- Reheat gently, do not allow to boil,

Hi to all the newbies and safesound you sound just the same as me. For various events in my life (wedding, 30th birthday) I have lost 6/7 stone (and sadly gained it back) and then done it again - so it goes on. Anyway, this time I back on the downward path (weightwise!) and you can do it too. Good luck. The start is always the hardest part so get on the scale, note your weight, take a picture like eric says, and then your next weigh in is when it all starts to move in the right direction.
It's a 3.6 lb loss for me this week taking me to a round 3 stone lost which I am happy with. I am also just about fitting into my "middle sized" wardrobe. I have trousers ranging from a size 14 to 22 in my wardrobe and the 22s are falling off me now and I almost showed my underwear when I had to bolt for the tube the other day - NOT a pretty sight. So I am now sitting at my desk squeezed into some 18s (as I don't want to invest in any clothes I intend to slim out of). I haven't got much room for lunch (which maybe is a good thing!)0 -
Wahoo my Davina DVD is here - better shut the curtains and start bouncing around the living room!! heheBetty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
