Eric - thanks, I've learned this weekend exactly how far "too far" is for me lol. I did get 4 miles in yesterday though, and got weighed this morning, and the plateau has been beaten. Am over the 27st1 and into the 26st somethings instead, still no light at the end of the tunnel but at least i know im moving in the right direction again at last

Ive put full length gel insoles in my trainers and usually wear a thick pair of socks over my normal socks for padding. It is a bit of a botch d.i.y. job though, so next time i might invest in a pair of [STRIKE]marshmallows[/STRIKE] trainers with maximum support.

lol, should i get royalties? im sure this mr staypuft was modelled on me :-)

one step forward at a time, never look back :)

i eventually reached my goal weight on the last thread--i lowed at 69kgs but have retreated to 74kgs where i have decided to stick because everyone thought i was too thin and ill looking at my goal-i do feel healthy at my present weight and still get comments about how well and good i look at 74kgs--i guess i was chasing an unrealistic weight i weighed back in 1994.--i am following a rough diet by not drinking alcohol and resisting sweet things--i can roughly count 1400 calories a day and i keep about there--due to work i am struggling to get to the gym but tomorrow......

Hi de1amo - good to see you again, it's so nice to hear from people when they drop off the thread to see how they are doing. And well done for reaching your goal :)

hi betty--thanks for the greetings--i am well and happy-i hope your well?-
-i keep an eye on the scales and keep a check on my eating--i have a new chef at my school and i now eat my main meal with the other staff so its hard to be totally strict--she cooks healthily because i draw up the menu!!--just had a very small amount of roast chicken -one potato and some salad--that will do me til home time at 9pm when i will have a light veggie meal--i am wary but not obessed!--i went on a diet site called myfitnesspal which helped me drop to my target and made me very calory savvy--i was too thin and quite weak when i got to 69kgs--i returned to the uk for a month and over embibed on alcohol and good living -as one does on holiday and i went back up to 74kgs which seems my natural weight-i returned here on the 5th august and have stayed the same--if i wanted to lose the weight i know how to--diet like this and go back to the gym but im happy and hard at work in my job which is flourishing --its the busy time for teachers and making time for the gym is tough - i dont feel motivated because i am happy with my weight!

    Welcome back old friend :j

How much you weigh is not important, how much body fat you have is what is important. If you look good and feel good you probably are good.

I am abit worried about the incredibly low cal intake you are on, its low for a woman let alone a man that exercises. I had my cal intake professionally calculated last weak and its 3460 plus 600-840 depending if i do cardio or resistance training that day, so potentially my intake to maintain my weight is 4300 cals a day, 1400 is incredibly low for a man in maintenance

    Hi all.

I think that resisting temptaion should mean automatically a good result on the scales. I went to a Charity supper last night and the menu was fish and chips and I resisted entirely and just ate the tomato and cucumber salad. I should automatically earn several pounds loss on the scale tomorrow, right????

Ohh sounds yummy bex. Id love to go somewhere nice for a meal but im so fussy that i think the experience would be wasted on me! Still, if i happen to meet a millionaire when im next in london i wouldnt say no :D

I've been cleaning today to try and burn some of my calories. My friend has been trying to get me to go to the gym but im in quite a mellow mood after a nice lay in till 9 and not getting dressed till 11 :) Unlike me, but it was the day after the night after we went out.

Hello to the new people, are you southern or northern? Were running a little competition called the Nasty Northerners aka Buckfast Beauties and the Superdiduper Southern Stunners. Its based on the % of weight you lose or gain in a week. So far the nasty lot are in front (just)!
