Interesting stuff eric, i always suspected BMI was bogus cos someone the same height and size as me could weigh a lot less due to my muscle mass (i'm really muscly, used to be a gymnast)
Nice to have a target - how far are you from it now? (if you dont mind me asking)

Yeah it's hard to determine when you should start counting for muscle - it makes it harder to discern weight loss as it weighs a lot lol!
I guess you can start using a tape meaure too? See how different your limbs, torso etc are and use that as a guide as well as weight.

I have a target of losing a stone by mid december - I like to say half a stone but i want to be ambitious and 1 stone loss works out at less than 2lb loss per week so it is do-able I am just afraid of setting that target and then failing.

(I feel a bit silly coz my weight loss targets seems so trivial compared to yours, u are doing so well and I can't even manage to lose a measly 2lb)

I still have up and down weeks, weeks where i do not loose for no apparent reason and weeks like this one where i put on weight (although the opp wont have helped :()

you just have to say, oh well, forget about it and focus on this week and do the best you can, dont regret the past, be positive about what you can do now in the present

Betty, if you still feel a little unsure about the dress, how about an underdress similar to what I wore on my pics for the Lose Weight Blah (can't remember what number it was). It pulls you in in all the right places and oomphs u where u need oomphed
    4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j

it really does come down to controlling carbs, once the insulin levels are under control its not so bad, i do have nothing bad in the house thou, no temptations, and i never go food shopping if i am hungry, eating 5 smaller meals a day is a big help as well, so theres not huge amounts of will power involved

I couldnt agree more about the shopping. Sunday morning breakfast in supermarket cafe preceeds our weekly shopping and the temptation to buy pies and bread and cakes just isn't there. Having a few hundred extra calories on a sunday morning probably saves thousands over the week.

Unfortunately it still doesnt stop the temptation of takeaways and other challenges over the rest ofthe week! After having a few bad days, I'm now having to do carb-cold-turkey all over again :-(
Hopefully wont be long before the cravings pass and things get easier again... i guess that's the insulin thing that eric was talking about then??

    talking about cold turkey

Theres a pub called the penny near me, ive been going since i was 18. MANY a good night had in there. I go in there tonight, and everyone looks 17... i suddenly felt o.l.d

Trouble is theyre all so fit looking. Dunno when younger people became so good looking. Its a bit wrong really.

anyway, better go. Battery is due a death!

gained 2.0lbs this week, lack of exercise and the system shock of the cardioversion I guess, although I have already lost it ..

slashed my cals down to the BL level of 1500 a day and started to do some gentle exercise
