In my first weekly weigh in on here and my first as a Stunner (of the Southern variety, not just normally!) I'm coming in with a 4lb loss!

Which I'm quite pleased with. Been cutting out some things and have started swimming and walking more. And drinking less in the week, as booze is my major downfall.
"quite pleased with" ????? You should be really really happy with that :j.
And romy - why do you feel 2lbs lets anyone down? These are really good losses and slow and steady is good and healthy. Puddings can safely lose more as he is a bit bigger to start with but that is why it's % of starting weight counts with this competion.

I do think having the wrong expectations with regard to weight loss affects our ability to stick at it consistantly. It just creates this cycle of, "well if I only lose a lb after all that effort , then there is no point" or just of feeling bad about yourself. Language and how we talk about ourselves has a very powerful affect on our self esteem and what we do and don't achieve.

So, only expect to lose 1 - 2 lbs a week max and be determined to be proud of that. It is really hard to change your eating and exercise habits (and thinkng patterns)and you are doing really really well. You could lose a st by xmas and 2-3 stone by next april.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Vix the rice milk is a good idea. We haven't tried it here yet, only because I know he likes the lactofree. Have u also considered goat's milk? Some people can tolerate this better than cow's milk. And doesn't taste as yuck as soya milk. The soya yoghurts are ok, as is the icecream (swedice Glace) I think it's called.

My son can now tolerate small bits of milk, like used in cooking or hidden in foods. So no more reading the labels of EVERYTHING in the supermarket. It would surprise you how many things have hidden milks, like flavoured crisps, cold meats, the list is endless. So if you're going to go milk free completely, I would advise you to look very closely at labels, even that of breakfast cereals. Whey, lactose and caseinates are all milk by products that aren't always obvious that they come from milk should you choose to go down that road.

Just got my new work uniform this morning, good grief, the trousers fit  well, of sorts. They fit on the waist, big everywhere else, hope there's no strong winds or I'll end up up a tree :rotfl: Same with the shorts, only those are too long, sit on the knee, yuck!!! One pair of trousers to wear 5 days a week, if they think I am wearing them everyday, they can think again. The red jacket is the dirtiest shade of red I have ever seen, totally horrible. Haven't received the shirts yet, so dunno what those will be like. Can u imagine wearing the same pair of trousers for 5 days ? How gross!!!! It's getting harder and harder to hold my tongue in there these days. Everytime something goes wrong, I feel like the fingers are pointing at me, however, I know where the real blame lies, but he's the golden boy so if i say anything, u know who's going to be the bad one. Getting so frustrated just biting my tongue, u guys know it's not like me, I just let rip at the best of times, whether I am right or wrong, usually right, but if i'm wrong then I'm the first to admit it. Anyhoo, I'm rambling!!! See what that place does to me? GRRRRRR

Have an interview tomorrow for a job in care work. Don't know much about it, it's what I did before joining RM. But now I've got the dilemma of taking this job or waiting for the medical retirement from RM.... AAAAAARGGH decisions decisions

Still haven't made it onto the scales... will do soon

I used to drink these daily Kat (and rather liked them) but I didn't notice any difference in my health. I switched to natural yoghurt which I found was a bit of an acquired taste at first but I like it now! :D

Great post about weight losses BB :T. I actually quite like having to work hard for my losses, it's a great deterrent for not putting it all back on again! I've said this before but if anyone thinks 1-2lb is a small loss, pick up something that weighs 1-2lb and imagine losing that off your body each week - it's a lot! :D Keep up the good work!
