Well done everyone on the weight losses - put me to shame.
Eric - Im picking up Move today and sports champion !! Is a second controller essential?0 -
I have only managed to achieve a 1lb loss this week, its better than nothing but i was hoping for at least 2. will have to aim higher next week. I have been trying to do some walking though i am having to take breaks as we are walking to catch my breath! and stairs are a killer at the moment, I hate that i cant do much excercise. before all this kicked off i used to do a 14mile round trip cycling to work everyday and went on my treadmill and wii fit but all these are out of the question at the moment, i may see how i cope with a couple of gentle excercises on the wii fit and see how i get on.£27.76/£2018 in 20180

Betty B could you tell me the recipe for the soup ? Sounds great
I got it from a user on the SW thread, but tweaked it a bit myself.
Here's my version:
This is prob enough for 2 ppl but i ate it all!!
Also apologies in advance for the rough/estimate measures, I tend to just thow everything in without weighing anything and see how it comes out!
half a chopped red onion
small piece of garlic (or half a big bit)
1 level tsp coriander
2 tsp cumin (seeds are nice but make it a bit 'bitty' so i use powder)
about half a red chilli (I left the seeds in) or you can use dried chilli depending what you have (and how spicy you like your food)
heat all the above in a pan with a splash of water (instead of oil) for a few minutes (or whilst chopping the carrots!)
add 4 chopped carrots
add half a chopped pepper (yellow or red - for sweetness)
add about 1.5 pints of water
add 2 small handfuls of red split lentils
cook for about 20 mins or till everything is nice and mushy
chuck in blender and blend till smooth (if that's how you like it!)
It came out lovely and creamy but mine was a bit too thick at this stage so I added a bit of milk and warmed it through - but you could just add more waterBetty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

Vix, I gave up all dairy 5 weeks ago. The only thing I miss now is milk in a cuppa. I have become addicted to "rice dream" rice milk(non flavoured but with added calcium).
As I also gave up wheat and gluten, having it in cereal hadn't been tried, lol. Although I have barely lost any weight, I have noticed my trousers be more comforatble and I am definitely less bloated. This may of course be own tothe no wheat as much as the milk. Dunno.
Before the 1920's, not one had cereal for breakfast - it was a commercially made up thing with a lot of advertising tht the nation got hooked into. Most cereals aren't particulalry nutricious anyway, and many have added sugar. They often have to add in vitamins as the processing of them takes any natural goodness out.
Rice milk is very nice in porridge.
I am loving soya yoghurt.
Puddings - it is wonderful to see you keeping at it and losing:T:T. That 1lb will go very very soon.
Eric - 11 stone gone:T:T
It is also fab to see the trickle of 1lb losses come in to: every lb counts and adds up. And those who started exercising more this weeks to drub the opposition: I have found that often the weight loss benefits of excersie don't show till the following week, so keep at it.
Kat - the trouble with the probiotic drinks is that they are full of sugar, last time I looked: each tiny little bottle had 5mg of added sugar which is a teaspoonfull: the very thing the yeasts in your gut, that probiotics are supposed to help defeat, feed on. Natural yoghurt with lots of acidophilus in woud probably be better as no sugar.
Amazingly I am still a sts please fred: bet if I was trying to maintain I couldn't do this:D
Vixstar: what date is the great south run?I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
In my first weekly weigh in on here and my first as a Stunner (of the Southern variety, not just normally!) I'm coming in with a 4lb loss!
Which I'm quite pleased with. Been cutting out some things and have started swimming and walking more. And drinking less in the week, as booze is my major downfall.0 -
STS yet again.
This is the pattern for me, I'm afraid. No steady losing week on week. I got into the 75s and stuck there for months, now I'm in the 74s and sticking.

:T:T:T:T:T WELL DONE PUDS!!!! Fantastic!
Beauties, I feel like I have let you down, I have only lost the 2lbs that I had put on last week at weigh in!!!
I just can't seem to get below 13st!! AAArghhh:mad:
Anyway, went to the doctors this week about my ankle and I have to try and put my (hefty) weight on it to strengthen it again.
Nevermind, onwards and (downwards) I hope!!!
Good Luck for next week.;)

Margaretclare - sounds like you've reached a plateau... have you thought about revamping your plan, sometimes it can take a change from the norm to kick start your body again
