Hi There
Just to let you know that all of your postings are really keeping me motivated. Ive done well today, so far!!
Ive not done much exercise, as just back from happy hols and completely jet-lagged.
Hoping to get back to my pre-holiday weight soon, with your help.:D0 -
I have a feeling the Biggest Losers MSE is going to take off! !
It has kept me motivated today, I ate slower at lunch time today and registered that I was full before my plate was half empty, I was very suprised and stopped eating (usually I go and clear the plate feeling guilty as I do it) I didn't feel guilty about leaving it either which I usually do too.
Then hubby and I went for a walk with DD in her pushchair, I hit over 8K steps today of which I am very proud!! I am new to the area so now I have a walk I can do, especially as my new mp3 player has arrived now too, just need to get the music transferred across now. Only 24gb of space to fill!!You never know how strong you are until you have no other option.0 -
1/2 lb this week.

Fellpony and Betty, the Evening Primrose Oil really does help me. I also take Starflower Oil too (1000mg of each daily - look for the high dose capsules). I buy my supplements from Sainsburys, as they seem very keenly priced. I also take 2 Fish Oil capsules a day, of the high dosage variety, and have stuck at it for several weeks now, and funnily enough my painful shoulder, that used to make me up in the night it ached so much, has miraculously stopped hurting now.
A friend of mine on facebook as just posted a link to this site, and I'm going to give it a go: https://www.graze.com They send snack boxes weekly of superfoods, low GI snacks, healthy 5 a day snacks. You can tailor your preferences according to what you prefer, so for me I have said don't send me olives, but I do like nuts, seeds, healthy flapjack or focaccia, berries and dried fruits. I'm going to try it for 1 week, the 1st box is free, and the 2nd is half price at £1.64. You can cancel any time, so I'm aiming for 2 boxes in 1 week, and see what I think. I thought it would be ideal to stop me snacking on bad things mid-morning/afternoon.
Right, off to do some veggies to go with the healthy sausages we've got for tea.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Eric - visceral fat? what's that? didnt know there were different sorts of fatRight now i look like someone tried to shove too much meat into a sausage!you can usually get hula hoops from pound shops...I have decided for xmas everyone is getting a choc orange £1 from AsdaHmz, I have weight watchers electronic scales, but sometimes they say different amounts on them, so i take the highest right?
Well done Beanie, and all the other losers this week - if youre away for 6 days then it looks like youll have to work hard for the other 22 then! but please dont pull out
Almond and Shalimar - a big fat welcome, :hello:
not only to the weight loss thread but also to the beauties !!!0 -
Eric - visceral fat? what's that? didnt know there were different sorts of fat
its the internal fat that surrounds your organs, its the stuff thats actually dangerous, i believe it has a different composition to body fat
and what's worse is apparently you can not loose it by dieting, it only goes by exercise, and mines going, slowly, apparently....0 -
granny - do you want me to send you my delicious green smoothie recipe that I drink a ltr of every day: that has 10 veg in it. brilliant & tasty way to up your veg count. yes please
Did the chiro not explain his reasoning behind the gluten/sugar elim? According to him the sugar/gluten interfers with the receptors that healthy white blood cells should be binding to and helping reduce inflammation in/arounf the ligament. He's not the sort of person who gives you a reference to a scientific paper :rotfl: I've got to the point where I almost don't care why it works/doesn't work - I 'm fed up wit hnot being able to walk as I want to so I'm happy to give a slightly wacky idea a try. Especially as it seems quite a healthy eating plan and I've lost 7.5 lbs in two weeks.
Part of the reason behind my current regime is to calm any internal imflamation as well as up quality if nutrients.
Sounds similar in approach???Does anyone know of any good toy shops to get a hoola hoop cheapo? Was thinking as most of my weight is belly and boobs I would give this a go, especially as i can't do any of the hard stuff with my dodgy knee.
I've used a weighted hoop at exercise classes -- ideal for dodgy knees and/or hips. Much more expensive than the light ones that children use but SO much easier to keep up. And you really feel you've had a work out after half an hour. But you'd pay about £20 for one rahter than the 2.99 toy shop version.sarymclary wrote: »A friend of mine on facebook as just posted a link to this site, and I'm going to give it a go: https://www.graze.com They send snack boxes weekly of superfoods, low GI snacks, healthy 5 a day snacks. It takes a while to calm down internal inflamation, so don't give up after 2 weeks, think more at least a couple of months if you can.
I'll PM the recipe to you this evening.
Sary & others- that was brave to post your weight. Well done for breaking down another barrier. (But no pressure on any to have to guys - I didn't mean that)
Mazza - I know the feeling when your get and and go and gone:( Hope it comes back soon.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Mazza A$DA had hula hoops cheap although the summer stock is probably rapidly disappearing.
Victory Thanks for letting me know about the choc oranges they're a traditional stocking filler here and could be good gifts for my cleaners etc
Does anyone know whether you can "bake" apples in the microwave? Have some that aren't nice to eat raw but may be better warm but don't have an oven handy. Maybe I could hot plate grill them??
No weigh in this week - scales say no - battery has finally gone.0
