I'm really pleased you're still getting extra hours. I know you were worried about that a while back.
I'm sort of being paid to sleep today too !!!!!0 -

:o Rumbled.
:o
Been on my feet this afternoon - Mum looking fine, then another trip to the hospital to return things they'd sent home with her by accident, then some shopping, so am feeling a bit weary.
Savings: 41p on plums, 76p on bananas, £1.49 on coffee and about 25p on peppers - £2.91 saved (I think).
I also wombled 28pand am having a go at making yogurt in the slow cooker as I had a pint of milk past the point where I would use it in coffee. I doubt it's dangerous but I hope it will taste okay! The milk smelt a lot like the starter of live yogurt I got.
This means I now have two live cultures in the kitchen. I had better not point that out to family or they may throw out either me or the cultures!Miggy

Seems like a long time since I've been on my thread even if it is only a couple of days. I've been at work and am back there later.
The yogurt looks and smells yogurty but I've yet to be brave and taste it.
I managed a few bargains from Mt T on the way to work in the last couple of days including gooseberries for 22p instead of £2 (x2) and reduced bread, dips and bean burgers which are stashed in the fridge at work for midnight meals! Total saving of £10.04! Nearly half that was on the gooseberries so I must make note and brave the garden to see what's growing on our gooseberries / currants / blackberries.
Not yet though, far too wet.
Work has messed me around a bit - I was asleep after last night's shift when they texted to see if I would swap tonight's shift, but I decided I'd pretend I hadn't opened the text for a while. That may sound bad but I only had my phone on because DS2 has a dental appointment later and I needed the alarm. Normally they wouldn't have been able to reach me because I need to prioritise sleep. I woke up at about one and was thinking about whether to accept the change (more money but means I would have a very long shift tomorrow and wouldn't see the family till late - plus I thought I might get a certain person on waking night who talks and so I'd not catch up on sleep...) Anyway, upshot is I am short of sleep (moan, moan) but they got someone else to cover. Turns out someone has given in their notice.
Here at home, we have at long last replaced DS2's bed. The old one had developed some interesting large cracks and was being held together by metal brackets but rocked when touched... it as only a matter of time before it collapsed beyond further repair! His mattress was newer than the old bed so we haven't replaced that which has kept the cost down.
I've just put the tumble dryer on. Not MS but the laundry is mounting up and we are short of space to dry things.
Wonder whether, if I get showered and dressed now, I can catch some more sleep before DS2's appointment? Worth a try.
ETA: wombled 6p yesterday.Miggy

Sunny day! Even if I did sleep through half of it.
Off to the auction to look at a potential bike for me (by which I mean a bike, potentially for me).Miggy

We've left a bid on a bike... first time in ages I've seen anything with a suitably-sized frame though we are having to hope for the best that the saddle can be raised a bit. We won't know till tomorrow whether anyone bids higher.
I'm off to work - one more night then a day off!Miggy

I had a little minds eye picture of you in a crash helmet and leathers and then when you mentioned the saddle, I realised you probably meant a pedal bikeNever pass a chance to say you care to those in your life as we are not promised a tomorrow0

Would much prefer the former but out of respect for DH's nerves, a pedal bike it is (or might be).Miggy

Or you could compromise and get an electric powered pedal bike!
I had an old rickety little fold up bike whizz past me once on my ride home! I was mortified, especially as the rider was a lot older than me, had heavier clothing and a big bag on the back and was just breezing along like his speed was no effort at all (we call that being scalped and not many cyclists accept being scalped gracefully - I'm definitely no exception to that)! So, I dug deep and sped up, coughing wheezing and struggling, in the hope of catching him so I could ask his diet/drug preference or find out something about where his turbo power came from. As I finally approached I could hear a very slight whirring sound and then saw this huge black box of a battery under the seat! Oh the relief!0 -
I've got a bike! So pleased! It was £28 at the auction and has now been cleaned up and is in the process of being made roadworthy. There's a puncture to mend and a brake needing reattaching but other than that it's really in pretty good condition.
Of course it will cost more eventually because I need a helmet and a lock.
I've also spent £12 on clothes.
Muffy, you will be relieved to know I haven't budgeted for electricity!Miggy
