That's wonderful.
I've decided that I'm going to look for one thing every day that I am thankful for. That must be yours. Mine was seeing a hedge of wild pink and white rambling roses, blooming despite the rain and wind. Hope Mum is not disorientated again by the move back.
The thankfulness thing is powerful isn't it? Love wild roses. We have some growing through a forsythia which I think may have come from the root stock of the previous owners' roses. Too pretty to chop back.
Philip Glennister chasing chickens, ha ha! I learnt that doesn't work when I was about three.Miggy

Today looked suspiciously like summer
You're mistaken. It's getting distinctly autumnal here.It even smell autumnal.
I have visited Mum (and dropped off some of her stuff, thus creating a very small amount more space here), been reassured that although coughing she is in fact in good spirits, then done her unpacking only to find a load of stuff that's not hers. All hers apart from some tights seems to be there, which is a good thing.
We watched Dad's Army at full blast again (I have to shut her door because the volume sets off the fire security and slams it automatically) then I trudged over to the hospital (not too far really) and delighted some nurses by returning the stuff they had lost.Mum knew it wasn't hers so I can only assume someone on the ward packed for her.
And... I've finally finished the cosmetic surgery on the choisya, and DH has mown the lawn, so although the garden still looks a wreck, it's a very slightly less-wrecked wreck. I did cheat and grouped a motley assortment of pots round the choisya to fill in a bit and pretend it was an arrangement, but it will take a while for it to work its magic.
I'm pleased your mum is back to normal? xxDebt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

'Looked' rather than looks'! It doesn't smell of autumn here but I did notice leaves coming down (and suddenly not many elderflowers left which is a nuisance because I always like to make sorbet).
I have cleaned out the SF this evening and temperatures are definitely dropping out there.Miggy

Thankfulness is a bit remote today. But at least the mist has gone. Been shrouded in it for the last 2 days. I did see a mother deer and fawn this morning while driving down the road. Poor baby was in the road and mum in the field. I stopped and waited for it to get back in the field but it bounded off down the grass verge and there was no gap in the hedge for it to get through, so I drove very slowly behind and after about 1/4 of a mile it managed to find a hole and with a flash of its little white bottom it was gone. Hope it managed to find its mum again. It was little bigger than a hare so must be a this year's fawn. Their legs look so fragile but boy do they bound and jump. Even the tinies clear 3 ft walls with ease. No sun here and although its not been raining the mist makes everything drip. No gardening for me today and mower still stationary.Never pass a chance to say you care to those in your life as we are not promised a tomorrow0

Wow, lucky you, I never get to see anything like that.
We had sunshine here this morning for the town carnival: my ears were ringing because they had an opening service by churches together and notched up the music to compete with everything else on the High Street. It was quite fun but very different from watching wild deer!
Now it's tipping down again and I've only managed a handful of weeding today. I'm at work for three hours this evening but if it's nice later I might get some more done. My neighbour and I were looking at the wild rose that grows in one corner and noticing how overgrown it's getting. If I'm not careful the wind will damage it so I suppose I ought to cut it back now the flowers have finished though I feel guilty at losing the rose hips.Miggy

It's grey again today but not rainy so I really out to get out in the garden. The washer is on - amazingly we are keeping on top of the laundry (by which I mean the lid still fits onto the hamper) despite the wet, but that's largely due to three or four drying cycles. Not MSE but I'm glad we have the dryer option for et or snowy days (or emergencies - sshhh, you didn't hear that).
I have the food money for the week so I'm going into town soon for some salad and a couple of other bits. I also intend to take a paper to Mum - just a quick trip (ha ha - those are rare but I want to check up on here after last week's scare as I won't find it easy to visit between now and Saturday).
I have my rota for the next couple of weeks and whoopee! Enough extra hours to add a week's wages! Lovely - all the more as two are sleep-ins so I get paid for being asleep.Well, being there really but I get sleep which is nice.
It's all the more unexpected as now we're fully staffed I didn't expect extra hours but having three designated night staff means those of us who do nights are now not needed at night quite so much, hence other shifts come available. I was offered the opportunity to take on some shifts elsewhere but for various reasons I'm not going to be doing that.
The plan for now: gather a few bits and bobs for Mum (return some magazines perhaps) and make my shopping list. Can I make myself do Mum's visit first? That would free the rest of the day till I go to work at nine...Miggy
