(((Hugs))) Miggy, hope your Mum is OK and will soon be on the road to recovery. Keep your chin up- we're thinking about you and sending positive vibes.
Rang the home where OH's sister lives and found out she's in Worcester hospital. Bit worrying as she's 96 and has little sight or hearing. I can't go and visit either and writing wouldn't be much good. I hope she knows I'm thinking about herNever pass a chance to say you care to those in your life as we are not promised a tomorrow0 -

Thanks for that ani, you're a pal! And thanks for your support too Flax.
Mum is staying in as they don't really know what's wrong and she went from being bronchial to being very poorly in a short time. Most of that is under control now and I was really pleased with the lovely staff. Mum is cheerful and was bossing the staff around when I left so I am fairly sure the crisis has abated. I'll visit tomorrow - oops, that would be later today.
Too tired to say much, but your support is valued.Miggy

I'm sorry to hear that Flax. I hope she has staff like the ones I've met today, I have every confidence in them.
You're quite a way from Worcester, aren't you? If she can discern colour, would a bright card be any good? Even if she can't read I expect someone would tell her who sent it...
I hope you have good news for her soon. xMiggy

She doesn't see very much at all and is a very dignified and private country lady and for someone to read a letter to her they have to shout so loud that everyone can hear and she is embarrased by that and just says 'do it later' and then puts it into her handbag unread, never to be seen again. She doesn't like to be a 'bother or make a fuss' so she gets left alone. I'm sure that handbag is a bottomless pit and no-one has ever seen what's in it. My OH used to tease her about it - said it must be chained to her wrist and contain the kitchen sink
I will go and see her when I go down to my daughters on 23rd and hope she is back in her home by then as Nottingham to Worcester and back is quite a step.Never pass a chance to say you care to those in your life as we are not promised a tomorrow0 -

Bronchial is not good at any age. It can flatten youbut bossing staff around is definitely, always a good sign.
Hope she is ok this morning xxDebt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
