Just about awake again... what a stormy night! The ground was littered with leaves this morning.

DH is having a tidying up day, I suppose I ought to join in.

    Not yet though. :)

Saved some money on shopping last night and also made some bread - a little more space in the larder where the mix was and a nice breakfast for me at about 6 this morning. :)

DH has found the ice cream box I put food in for work - and it's got chocolate in! This is turning into a good day!

I've also just remembered the friendship cake mixes are ready to cook today. Definitely a a good day, though not for the waist line. :)

Are these the "living cake mix " thingamies? :p

Years ago, some one used to give you a living yeast mix ? ( i'm talking 30 ish years ago here,) and you watched it grow for a week or whatever it was, and then i used to add fruity type ingredients to mine and sprinkle sugar, ( ) on the top, and it was G O R G E O U S.:D Then you save some of the mix back, and off you went again, with next weeks cake. Trouble is, i never learned how to start it off in the first place, so you were ermm, committed to making cake every week.............:rotfl:

Those were the days. There's one for a good mse tip :D

Ani, if ever you get some spare bricks and cement (as one does), you could of course make your own oven:

These are so beautiful... I WANT ONE! :rotfl: I think it would do cakes too...

Build it on a platform... then it's furniture, not a fixture. :)

If you can rise bread in a slow cooker, perhaps there's a way to bake cakes too?
