Actually I noticed it stays amazingly long for a few weeks - as if the sun balanced at the top of the year before going down again. Once I worked that out I felt better about it.

Also - any excuse to eat rich fruit cake.

Work has just asked me if I'll go in tonight. Not what I was planning but someone has a crisis and I haven't so I'll go. Will probably mean I get tomorrow night off then work on Friday night - a really daft solution but we can't see a way round it.

So I did, but you were the one who wanted some saved.

And here we have - wet weather again. I'm a bit sleepy still, having been awake all night and realised Wednesdays are quiet nights at work. For some reason I rarely get asked to do them!

I would like to be doing more of the garden but it's getting its revenge and growing while I'm here in the dry. There's plenty to do in the house but that's not nearly as interesting.

Shopping yesterday (mince, carrots, sandwich) saved £4.79.

If you love doing something, that gives you a head start at any interview, and I'd imagine that's what makes the most effective sales people.

An incredibly rainy day!

Last night I got pretty wet just going to the shop ten minutes away - and that was with an umbrella. There was a swathe of evil-looking black cloud, distinct from the other cloud (!) which decided to spill specifically on our area!

I'm working tonight but in the meantime am trying to make inroads into stuff around the house. There was a large collection of newspapers from Mum to check through (nothing important dropped into them? She can forget she's put things in, and I get mixed up whether there was anything she's asked me to have a look at/order) before I bundle them up to get rid.

DS2's Prom is tonight (indoors) and a music event (out of doors) that he was going to tomorrow has been cancelled due to the weather. He has accidentally saved some money by oversleeping so not going out with friends!

I have been cleaning in the kitchen - detailed cleaning, the sort where you wonder just how long since it was last done! :eek: Time I did some more. Wet weather may be miserable but it does keep me on task once I get off the computer...
