That would be the gardening that didn't happen and the currently-not-so-DS who is risking his neck being so rude to his parents.

    Grrr.

'Nuff said, I will have to try to do some gardening another time. Meanwhile DH and I are thinking of going to see the beacon lit at Roseberry Topping tonight...

I have never cooked a sausage casserole in a kettle, but I expect it could be done,

Might make the drinks taste funny though.

Try the slow cooker thread... hang on, I'll see if I can find it. If not back soon, I'll try again later. Off to see the beacon being lit soon - if DS2 and I can stay in teh same car long enough. ;):D

ETA - am being yelled at by family, sorry - prob better go but if you're in a hurry, try about November last year, poss end of Oct.

Have you got a sc? And how was your day?

P.P.S. will do something about inbox honest but will have to be later. :) (Sorry).

Can't have that - head for the hills at once!

I love my slow cooker. Loved it even more the day I finally made an edible rice pudding in it!

I am pleased to report my inbox is now usable. People will keep sending me messages - how am I supposed to keep it tidy? :D

I found my sausage casserole recipe, for future reeference:

    5 fat sausages, chopped
    jar bolognese sauce
tin tomatoes (everything I cook has a tin of tomatoes in - though admittedly I sometimes omit the actual tin)
    tin butter beans, drained
    chopped green pepper

    Cook for 6-8 hours.

Ani, I thought of something regarding slow cookers - if you put in the chicken carcass with or without flavours such as onion, celery or herbs, and leave it on low, say overnight, it makes very nice stock, which you can then use to cook just about anything (maybe a slight exaggeration there). My recommendation would be use it to cook potatoes along the lines of scalloped potatoes, or risotto... that's if you've not already made it into soup. It will last a few days in the fridge - maybe best to have it half full of liquid and poke the remains of the chicken down after a few hours so you get a more concentrated result.
