Hope you are doing the weeding? I've just stoppped for lunch, and didn't realise its 2 o'clock. I've been outside for 4 hours, although i must admit, its too hot for me, the heat is starting to make me feel sick.I've always preferred it on the cold side. The only good thing about the weather is i don't feel i'm missing not using the heating.:p

Back to it. I've potted half the seeds. I'm either as slow as a snail, or i've overfaced myself in my ermm, challenge. If i'm lucky i'll finish potting this afternoon, and i think i probably should be pleased with myself, and call it a day. The weeding will have to wait. From now its just maintenance, and alot of it :o

A b*y neighbour has just brought the most gorgeous hanging basket home, that they've just bought. All bright crimsony purple :( I'm soooo envious. My petunia today, are a feeble pale lemon. They are all supposed to be different colours. Do they change colour? :o And now i've planted all those seeds, i'm hungry :rotfl:

Yellow and purple complement each other so just think what good taste you both have. ;)

I don't think petunias change colour, but they're one of the things I've been unsuccessful with so I may not be a reliable source of info there. More likely the yellow just flower a bit early, or by some quirk you have just yellow from a mixed batch. Maybe the yellow are the original colour and therefore stronger, a dominant gene?

No weeding done at all here, no planting either, but then I was asleep till 10 to 11! I blame a mixture of genuine tiredness and antihistamines.

On closer inspection, its just the yellow ones which have started flowering. Oh well i suppose its a result, so far. :) The others are very healthy, in fact everything is growing like wildfire.

Last night I was far too tired to grab the computer off poor DS2, who was revising for a double chemistry exam today. I don't know what was up with me but today I feel better. Not so sure about DS... double chemistry - urgh.

Today - lucky me - DH and I both have the day off so we're taking one of the 2-4-1 vouchers from Gardeners' World (purchased so we can go to the Eden Project while on holiday) and taking a picnic up to Helmsley. Is there anywhere lovelier than Helmsley Walled Garden on a summery day? (She asked rhetorically). Anyway I'm really looking forward to it. Last year we didn't manage any gardens at all as far as I remember.

There are lots of things I ought to be doing at home but they are going to have to wait. :D I might just put a load of washing in first though so by the time the other necessary bits and pieces are complete it can go on the line to dry while we're out.

Sing hi! for a sunny day and nothing better to do than enjoy it! ;)

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
Morning all. I've had a wee psychotic episode so not been online lately :(...

Anyhow things are now looking up :D I'm waiting to hear about OU and I might be moving :D...to a rough area (pants) but like a nice (I've yet to see it) 7th floor 2 bedroom place by the river.

Only thing I'm really worried about is like changing docs as I don't want to lose my consultant. He's really nice and saved my life 7 years ago. So I don't want to lose him. He's really good. Also like if I change consultant it could mean a change in diagnosis and that could really put me back :(. Change in pills the works. How nightmarish does that sound?

Anyhow I'll keep you informed about the move. There's a charity that moves folk for £30 an hour. I just need to get boxes. Anyone any good links for cheap boxes for moving?

Helmsley was absolutely gorgeous, thanks. :) It would have been MS too, had we not bought plants. ;)

    Rudbeckia Deamii

Erysimum Golden Gem (not as fragrant as normal wallflowers but I have a soft spot for them nonetheless)

    Sisyrinchium Californicum Brachypus

    Ligularia Przewalskii

I don't know why I chose all yellow - that was entirely subconscious.

Now the Electrolux man arrived when he said he would (first thing this morning) so the oven door is mended but he'll have to come back because we forgot to tell him the seal on the door also needs to be replaced. While he's doing that he can realign the mended door because I discovered after he'd gone that it's now sticking badly. Anyway I now have the rest of the day to enjoy - yippee!

This actually means doing the washing, gardening, tidying, housework, exercise and so on. :D

It also means I might just pop back later for a chat. :)

Hi Erme, good to hear from you again, and I'm glad you're feeling better. :)

Taking your message in all the wrong order - I don't know any sources of cheap boxes unless you know anyone who buys from Approved Food? Their boxes are big and strong. Other than that of course try supermarkets, but in either case you would probably need more than you'd get from one place.

I'd weigh up very carefully about possibly moving if it means you might lose the consultant. He sounds something special! How likey is it you would get someone else?

On the other hand a 2-bed place by the river could be very tempting. :) What do your friends think? And would you have any difficulty getting to your church(es), friends and other things that matter to you?

And what are you interested in at the OU? Tell all! :D I love the idea of further study, so long as it's not the stuff my work wants me to get done. ;)

    ETA: Sorry so many questions!

My garden seems to be full of yellow, orange, violet and purple. I need reds and pinks. I saw a monkey puzzle tree yesterday for £9. I've always wanted a mpt. I resisted temptation. I'd also love some pampas grass. Actually, i've nowhere to put them.

MPTs are amazing. A bit spikey, but amazing.

I think you can grow pampas from seeds can't you? Not that you ever grow things from seeds... ;)
