Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
I climbed some stairs yesterday though am sleeping at odd hours :(

So yeah...I went to bed about 11 then woke at 4 till 6am, then slept till 10 and almost missed kirk :( then slept from 1-4pm so missed kirk again...

They want me to stay at the baptist kirk and not go to the FP's (free presbyterians) and I'm way too strict for the baptists and I'm also not in favour of adult baptism by immersion so I think I will go to the FP prayer meeting on Tuesday.

Feeling soooo much better now the lounge is tidy though and have physio at the hospital regarding knee tomorrow so quite happy about that...

Diet wise what do you recommend? GI or the maker's? Don't mind as long as there's no calorie counting involved :D

Calorie counting is what I know best :) but moderation in all things edible and plenty of water to drink - that works pretty well so long as you are active.

    Ah.

Well okay then, the leg isn't going to let you do that just now (I'm trying to do lots of exercise to get my cholesterol and weight down and my metabolism up, so that's what I know a bit about).

I know a dietician who's very slim and she goes by small portions of healthy food with the occasional indulgence day. I know she has a passion for kitkat chunkies so she's not all angel. :D She really is very slim but not skinny.

This week the GCSEs/A Levels start in earnest (DD has already done her practical for Art). I can't get as much computer time due to DS2 revising.

Went to the local introductory service for Christian Aid week on Sunday evening. This year the focal point is Sierra Leone in West Africa, which is recovering from ten years of civil war. The speaker was a Sierra Leonean man who was very knowledgeable, talking about how the war had affected people and what it's like now, trying to rebuild and all the difficulties such as bad roads and facilities destroyed in the war and having to live alongside people who have been on the other side in the war. He put such a good case and it makes me want to help - of course being their collection week is a good opportunity. It's such an incredibly poor country that every penny can help.

That reminds me that I developed a whole line of thought about giving once. It's too often seen in terms of money, but giving time, skills, thought, publicity, care... all these could be just as valuable. In fact, they might be worth more than money in some cases.

    Soap box over. :)

More news - I've cleaned out the goldfish. They are wearing sunglasses until they adjust to the new light levels. I am ashamed of myself for letting any of my critters live in such poor conditions (though I hasten to add they have a filter so that slows down the rate of deterioration).

I've had a sort through duplicate houseplants: how did I get so many spares?! The real plant news is that the tomatoes seem to be increasing by ten to twelve seedlings every 12 hours! There are over 80 now. I must find a way to pot them on and rehome some.

Lots to do tomorrow so I'll disappear for now.

Isn't that the whole point of life, when helping other people?

H'mmm... not sure about the whole point - after all there is value in giving money and what about the value of things like enjoying the present moment? However, I think it's easy for people who have money to see giving in terms of it, and miss out on some of the rest, and money can blind us to realities. I'm thinking it's relatively easy to give money and not think about the cause again, whereas when you give any of the others, you have to put some of yourself in and stay involved for longer, so that'a a more 'real' giving, If I can put it that way.

    So for today: a list.

    [STRIKE]Excercise[/STRIKE]
Find DD's receipt - no joy there
    [STRIKE]meeting with manager[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]prep study material[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]visit Mum[/STRIKE]

That doesn't look much but in fact it's going to take all day.
    See you later!
