Ani, keep a look out for freezers just in case this recipe works, because the ginger is nice, by which I mean delicious.

Hmm, i don't have anywhere to put a freezer. Same for a cooker, for that matter.. :o

Mmm, like the sound of the ice cream, though.

Ani, I'm sorry the magazine offer is a 2 for 1. That's a real shame. I'll keep an eye open for any good garden bargains for you though! [ /QUOTE]

Unfortunately gardening and gardens is off the menu or should i say, agenda, now. Would you like some hanging baskets? Troughs? Plants? Free to a caring home.

So much for multi quoting. I forgot to tick the multi quote box, i'm so tired.

Let me know if you're ever over this way, Ani - I'll make ginger ice cream. :)

Thank you for the offer, but much as I love plants / hanging baskets / troughs, I would be happiest if you were enjoying them... though I might be persuaded to rehome a few cuttings. ;) I'm worried about you now. Hang on in there, there will be a way through.

A big day for DD - a particularly important A level paper that she's retaking and needs for the course she wants to do. DH also has his 121 at work which will give him a chance to offload about something he's trying to manage which is drastically under-resourced and overstretched. Both DSes have, as far as I know, fairly uneventful days. As for me, I could have done with more sleep as I'm working tonight, but that's not such a huge issue.

There are lots of things to be dome around the house - I looked at it the other day and thought a really good clean is in order, probably starting with the lounge carpet, but as that's the room I exercise in, I'll do an exercise DVD before I start.

No money stuff to report - apart from I've no piano lesson for the next 2 weeks so I can make a mortgage overpayment. Not a huge one but chipping away at things makes a big difference in the long run.

I also have tonnes of stuff to sort for Mum and frankly, I'm putting it off as much as possible, not because it's horrendous but because it's onerous (is that the word?). Boring and time-consuming, and requires thought.

The nice job, if I get that far, is potting on some seedlings. My beetroot are coming up and I haven't dared count the tomatoes for the last couple of days! :D

DD's exam seems to have been somewhere in the middle, between great and disasterous, so only time will tell whether she's done well enough to get on the course she wants. DH's 121 was okay: the situation he's dealing with at work continues, but it's unlikely it will change until all the jobs have been allocated, so we will just have to make the most of it and diffuse the tension as best we can.

I managed my exercise DVD this morning: going up a level so tomorrow I may suffer for it. :) This afternoon I did some housework - I was going to wash the sofa covers but discovered they have been washed to the point where they won't come off - what to do about that? Out comes the spray, but I'm not happy with that as a solution! New sofa too expensive... will have to think about this one.

DS1 is making dinner so I'm off to lay the table.

I'm back, and an easy week at work coming up.

Did really well out of the end of day mark-downs at Mr T several times recently: I may bore everyone with them soon (you can always skip that post: not a lot more boring than someone boasting about savings that are now gone by)!

I've gone a bit MS evangelical at work recently, telling a colleague who loves cooking to go home via Mr T when he finishes a late shift so he can look for the bargains, and giving another colleague the link for AF and BB4L. She looked them up and is delighted. At present she has no freezer and was spending £80 a week on food and having to throw some out because it goes off. As we spend £10 to feed more or less five people I thought some thing ought to be done. :)

I have planted up one of my 95 tomato seedlings... it's a start. :T

Today things are all going pretty well okay except for worrying about Ani, but that's enough to tip the balance.

Went to dentist first thing: no fillings needed, some discussion on interdental brushes and a sheet of info on how to stop my jaw clicking! Not an MS exercise, but really useful nonetheless. :D

I've posted some post (as one does... when one remembers) and paid a bill for Mum. I also got hay and pet food and discovered Sinbad (the parrot belonging to the pet shop) has died. :( That's a shame, he was a real character.

Last night I had a sudden attack of feeling I could deal with Mum's finances so I started to work my way through the pile. I didn't get very far but managed to sort a couple of things on the way. I've also texted her builder to see how things are going.

Still to do: check bank balance, do food shopping, see if I can face Mum's finances again, reply to phone message from her SW.

I'm still doing exercise, by the way, but not succeeding in losing weight even though I'm being careful over food and keeping a food diary. I guess the ice cream doesn't help, though I've been very sparing with it! However, I'm only 1lb off being into the 'normal' BMI for my height which gives me a good short-term goal. Interestingly, the person who is overseeing my exercise, is technically overweight according to his BMI readings! No way is he overweight, it's muscle. Hoping the same can soon be said of me. :D

A second day of glorious sunshine - it seems so long since we had it but it was only a few weeks ago I was rejoicing that it was finally raining! And did it rain? Just a bit... enough to take several areas right out of drought! And did the garden grow? Every so very... I now have several days' worth of weeding. :D

Yesterday was a training day at work and finished early so I potted up 72 of my 99 tomato seedlings! I think I'm going to have to be brave and do a car boot sale, which I've never done before, at some point: but they are still so small. Will they be big enough in time for anyone to want them?

They are 'Pomodoro Costoluto Fiorentino', from a pack I bought about four years ago with more seeds in than I could have used from then till now, except I'd not planted any. I decided very few would be viable, but I was wrong. I planted 73 and got 72. :rotfl:
The others are 'Harbinger', 'Big Red' and 'Suncherry' - this last very expensive at £3.29 for only 8 seeds! However if I remember rightly I bought a plant of these at a car boot sale a couple of years ago and they were fabulous, so I shall have to cosset every last one.

Not a lot to say on the money side of things apart from that we have two new people starting at work soon so the extra hours will be scarce. Oh well. All the more time to enjoy the sunshine. :)

The food money isn't doing great this week - having paid DD her allowance my new bank acct (the one that pays for food) is looking very hungry till the end of the week when I get paid so I will have to make do with what I've got - about £6 but we have food in and DH has some food money left too. Not going to starve. :)
