Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
Sleep still nuts and I have to always worry about Ma's panics when I get up in the middle of the night for more than a few minutes. If I don't text on time she phones and cries on my voicemail (or at best sounds agitated) and in the worse case scenario calls the police so I get rudely awoken by them at some ungodly hour. All for wanting a lie in and not saying so...

It didn't used to be so bad. I mean at one point I could text in the middle of the night and she'd be fine. But now she has her mobile as a clock in bed and if I text her it wakes her up. Last night I got a text about 11pm (I was fast asleep) and like she said she didn't know what time she'd be up...So I have that to contend with. I have a timer on my android but still? What time do I set it for? I feel like now I've got to stay up from 3am just to see what time she texts so she doesn't wake me up.....

Argh!!! Then you wonder why I get so stressed out by Ma.....and never mind SC. SC is why I'm dieting. It's pure stress....

Glad your bug is better. Debt is now under 2K though interest from OD last month was £10 which was a bit much. Hoping it'll be down to £4 this month :)

I'm paying £100 in the middle of the night on Tuesday am to OD anyways...so it won't be that long at over £500 and another £350 two weeks later :j. Just pray I don't get hit by ESA whilst I'm paying off debt as that will leave me over £100 a month worse off . My friend has just gotten it and that is how much she is down by as it's all taxed . ESA is not a lot anyways then they have the cheek to tax it? So that's like £20 in every £100 I think .....

Hi hun, well done for making the payment! It will soon be gone at this rate.

Your mum is driving you nuts isn't she?! I guess mums always worry... would it help to have an agreed texting time of say 10am? Or would she just worry anyway? I used to have my mum ring me at 10pm every night because I was afraid she's have a fall or be too ill to get out of her chair or something. She generally remembered. When she didn't I'd ring the neighbour and if I couldn't get them, the police. Sometimes she really was sick but sometimes she'd just fallen asleep. Stresses me out remembering! :D

I'm guessing SC is your sister in another guise?

I'm trying to work out if your diet is to eat more or less? A day on 400 cals is do-able but obviously not something to keep up. Anyway the porridge is a good start and so's the Bible reading. That reminds me I was going to have another look at the site you recommended - it was down last time I looked.

Made veg soup in the SC last night, thus saving the £3.95 we usually spend on Saturday fish and chips and using up some of our superabundance of carrots and oddments of veg at the same time.

I'm amazed at how much I've slept in the last 24 hours: got in from work at about 8 and didn't go straight to bed but was probably asleep for 9am. Slept through till 4.40, that's 7hrs 40 mins. Then I went to bed late because I'd had that sleep. Maybe went to sleep at best at about half past 2. I woke up at what I thought was 8, only to find it was already 10 o'clock! That makes about 15 hours in 25. I think I needed it. :D

I've spent some time persuading DH of the value of mortgage overpayment and I think we're getting somewhere. It helps to choose a time when he's not tired! I also had a very inspiring play with the overpayment calculator. Wish I understood Maths... how does it know these things?! :rotfl:

Having said that - minds work very differently. DH has an amazing memory for things like dates but really can't visualise spatially. For me, supposedly static facts, such as numbers, don't stay put. For instance I could tell you I'd read about a man who saved £10,000, then if I tell you the story later he could have saved £100,000. I don't do it intentionally. I think part of it is that the numbers aren't something I can visualise... yet give me a socialogical theory and I can wrap it round a real-life situation, no probs. Same goes for changing the layout of a room - I have a fair idea of how the finished item will look.

There's nowt as queer as folks... that means me. :D

Anyway we have looked at numbers and are closer to making a best decision when our mortgage comes up for review in a couple of months.

The other news - we have treated ourselves to a weekend away! Yay! Going to see a show and have meals out and generally pretend to be students again. Nearly two months to wait.

Plan for the rest of the day:
    • [STRIKE]put rest of soup to cool[/STRIKE]
    • start batch of parsnip soup in slow cooker
    • [STRIKE]unload dishwasher[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]put laundry in the machine[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]see Mum and take her some of the magazines she lent me, thus creating space here. :)[/STRIKE]

yeah one day on 400 cals makes you mega grumpy :(...

Ma has said she'll try less to panic but I don't believe it. I'm now finding myself bringing up old stuff which I'm sure is not helpful cos she's so long in reading her texts that she replies to my gripes even after they've been sorted :(

The guy who tried (and failed) to fix the bike said it probably needed new inner tubes. So going to have to look for like an allen key or get him over next weekend as I think the workshop is closed for ages due to them not having shelves or something :(...

But still. Would be good to learn how to take a wheel on and off :T...

So yeah...back still sore etc...Going to see a vaping (e-cig) friend at 5 which should be fun...

Housework or ebay? My place really is a tip and I'd rather do housework to be honest. Then make a seed roast for tomorrow when I get back from my friends. Is it me or do I just not like taking pics of things to upload? LOL

Not just you. It takes me forever. I have listed one item to take advantage of the free listing.

First item in months and months...

I listed some starbucks cards :)

There's a mac app but it costs for these things...I over priced them but there's like only about 1 or 2 similar. I think they generally go for about 99p each or so. I have loads :) - plus about 80p postage. Sure I've over priced them but still. I put them on buy it now and listed internationally so the total cost came to about £1.20 but still...that was for 10 cards :)...with postage (recorded) I should be okay.

So yeah - no seed roast. :( Love my seed roast. Far quicker than a meat loaf to make and seriously yum :)...Not least with gravy and veggies. In fact must go to volunteering this week to get tatties if naught else...

My sock book came today and it's really good and wasn't expensive on amazon :)...so yeah checked the bookshelf and I also have the hat book in that series too. So now am crocheting socks but still have my wrist warmers to finish before the weekend for my elderly friend.

P the e-cig friend was nice and told me my seals were well and truly gone on my e-cig tank. No wonder I've been having such probs with it :(...so yeah - trip to the industrial estate (about an hour away) on Monday to get new seals (hope they fit them for me...that could be interesting)...

Yesterday wasn't such a good day - I avoided getting into an argument with DD, by going on a very, very long walk. I couldn't even be assertive because for once I couldn't put into words what was the matter. Still can't quite. We never fight, either so it was doubly sad.

Last night I had another insomniac phase, partly because I don't always get to sleep at anything recogniseable as a reasonable time, and partly because DH was restless. At some time after 3 I drifted off to the dulcet tones of G*rdon R*msay. Unusual, but it worked!

Quite a few things today: £7.50 on goldfish food and pondweed. :) Bought the posher fish food to cheer them up as I've been neglecting them and that brightly coloured stuff doesn't look healthy. :D

Did a small amount of decluttering, bought some food (can't remember what I spent but still within budget as the budget is all of a day old) and DRUM ROLL PLEASE... made a mortgage repayment! Not a huge one - I could still pay £280 before March and not incur a penalty - but nice to know it's done. I also found a receipt in my trolley at the supermarket with a massive 72 points on it which someone had screwed up and chucked out. Would they do that if it were cash? Possibly.

DS2 has an exam tomorrow so I had better leave this and help him ensure he has everything ready to go in the morning.

And the good news is... my £45 overpayment today saves us £23 in interest by the end of the mortgage! (According to the mortgage overpayment calculator).
