Two good things in one go! So pleased you can eat again.I'm wondering if you tend to splurge on treats (bags? No, they are probably essentials
) then leave yourself short for food? Would it help to write yourself a list of food needed between one set of income and another and prioritise buying that?
Is the bike fixed yet?
£100 paid off is impressive, well done you. I have a grand total of one watcher on my ebay item, TBH I don't hold out great hopes of selling it but now that I've done one I've half a mind to list some less expensive things and try to raise more money towards mortgage overpayment. Not long now till we come off the fixed rate mortgage so after that I would like to be able to pay off more.Miggy

A very odd day today, hungry and thirsty right through till mid-afternoon and had to keep finding things to eat. Even if thirst was making me hungry (IYSWIM) then I shouldn't have gone on feeling like this. This evening I feel a bit achey so I'm wondering if I've either got a bug or have eaten something that's not suited me.
Then Mum gave me a bag of chocolates and three fairy cakes and I've eaten one cake and a handful of chocs. *sigh*
Diet starts again tomorrow.
Money-wise it wasn't too bad. Two of the children have fallen for a fairly healthy cereal that's on a very good offer so I bought yet another packet of it while I can get it cheaply, plus burgers for DS2 and a pasta sauce for the rest of us. I used pasta and cooked chicken that we already had though so that wasn't too bad. Also got some apples, reduced, saving 26p.
My sleep has been really bad the last few nights and I've just been falling asleep on the sofa so I'll try to catch up tonight. I don't have to get up early tomorrow - yippee!
DS2 has had his GCSE paper today and says it wasn't too bad. Weather is mild for January but I still got cold, so perhaps I wasn't well and that's why I felt hungry? I also had my piano lesson (works better if I've practiced and am not sleepy, but I knew that already) then did a bit of tidying in the garden. From the feel of the air and the birds singing, you would think spring was about to start. How strange that this time last year it was so cold!

Late to bed last night though not as late as recently - then I didn't get much of a lie-in this morning as the family was all getting up and generally making a noise. Then I couldn't remember whether I was meeting my friend for coffee today (turns out it will be tomorrow) so I got up and looked in my diary...
Also had a phone call from Mum's local authority about some land she owns and which is busy doing nothing. Of course the neighbours are getting concerned. I'm not sure where to go with this: I thought of letting it out for allotments but am not sure if I can do this as there's a mortgage. I think I need to start looking things up.
Hate doing anything like this! It brings back nightmares... but I must remember I can do it.
Yet in general I have done very little with the day so far, apart from a load of laundry, so I am going to rectify that and come back later with something to show for it.Miggy

Am feeling better this evening largely thanks to my fantastic homegroup!
Have done two loads of washing and used up some freezer stuff though I did get a few groceries too.
Ran a few errands - posted some stuff for my sister, did some shopping for Mum, checked the newsagents to see if her magazines are in yet (they aren't) and am feeling a bit better about Mum's land. There are no allotments associations near her house but there's one in another village that I could try, but I decided to speak to her former neighbours first to see if they are interested. At one point she was negotiating with one to lease or sell the land - there are papers somewhere but it fell through when it got complicated - but I think it may be worth another try. I also happen to know the chair of the Parish Council from way back. He gave me a lift a year or so ago so I know he remembers me. If neighbours aren't interested he would know who else to go to and it would be in the interests of the village to have the land looking nice.
Okay - am still slightly earlier than last night so I will count that a success!Miggy

No loo roll was worse. Have no fear. I stocked up from Mr Ll....:D
Nope food always comes first...but my prob is I like the odd doughnut or whoopsie from Mr S when I'm tired and peckish
And now I'm near enough out of cous cous (I buy it in 5kg bags - about £8 - last months!!!) so if I do run out before Tuesday I'll have pancakes for lunch. (Have flour, eggs and milk)
Milk (1%) was 85p a for 2 litres I think at Mr Ldl on Tuesday so I got some even though I'd already gotten some from Mr S earlier in the day. I figure it'll keep and I'll use it. I got some whoopsied milk last week from Mr S and it kept almost a week past it's best before date
. I need to sort out the freezer at some point and maybe buy some yeast so I can start making bread again in the FP. You can't beat home made bread.
Nope the bill from Mr L was £20 including food and like the bike stuff (£13) but then I spent an extra £3 at Mr M on mayo (cos I prefer there's to Mr L and it's cheaper) and some pasta sauce and curry sauce I didn't need . Lots of pasta and veg curries for the next few weeks LOL. But then I'd already spent £8 that day so that was housekeeping well and truly gone. Fortunately I had my RDF otherwise I'd be up the creek without a paddle....Am feeling better this evening largely thanks to my fantastic homegroup!

Och will pray hun. Sorry I've not been online past few days. Been soooo busy and when I've not been busy I've been tired. Hope I'm not going anaemic. Hope it's just the weather. Thanks for your prayers re tiredness. Tossed and turned last night but woke up at 5.30 and am now up on time (unlike yesterday where I didn't emerge till about 10am )
How is Mike btw?

While I think of it... if you ask at the bakery section of supermarkets you may be able to get free fresh yeast. Something to do with them not being allowed to sell it due to something I can't remember. Our local Mr T theoretically gives it away in 2oz pieces (sometimes I have to explain it to the person on checkout but mostly they know). The 2oz pieces are sometimes a lot bigger! They just give me a chunk. It lasts a couple of days at least in the fridge if wrapped in plastic.Miggy

All coffee'd out... had a really nice time talking to my friend but have had quite a bit of caffeine in the process.
Perhaps that's how I got 2560 on the MSE game which I think might be a personal best.
Spending: £4.50 on coffees (good job I don't do that often), £10.58 on (needed) toiletries and sticking plasters, £1.47 on groceries and 69p for a whisk.
I would rather like to add the savings made by shopping around to Mr B's challenge but I'm not sure - it's instinct to look for the best price and not to buy if something looks expensive, which meant I spent 69p not £4.50 on the whisk and 55p not £1 on yogurt, but can I really claim those as I would only have bought at the higher price if I needed the things urgently? Decided actually I can because it's still money saved even if it's habitual.
Therefore savings = £4.26.Miggy

hi, it must be hard always having to sort things out for your mum, specially things so diverse as land, shopping etc. I hope you can sort something out which doesn't take it all out of your, or too much of your time. ((((hugs))))0
