Mobility car. Who can use it...?

This thread has now just sunk to someone not getting their own way
and there is very little point in carrying it further.

I've gone back to the first posts. The thread wasn't about borrowing a DA car for a week.
You are in what position? You may believe you know what you are allowed to do, and then my dear, you carry on doing it.
But there really is no need to be soooo rude to other posters, who may feel differently to you.
Surely we are here to offer advice and support to each other? If someone chooses not to heed your advice, there is no need to harrangue them about it.
Be nice....
No it wasn't about that but very early on the issue became wider for obvious reasons. You simply cannot separate the issue of the road fund licence from allowing others to use the car.
I have given the Gov view on that.
My only interest hear is to ensure that others are not mislead by misinformation regarding this.
What position you say? That of having a DA class taxed car. I do know who can use it and who can't, see what has happened to those that ignore this.
Stuart unfortunately swallowed a piece of information posted by another and assumed it proved his viewpoint, unfortunately it didn't
He was also abusive to me and others even after I had sided with him, the rudeness didn't start here "dear"I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

No Stuart the post is simply me stating the facts and you refusing to accept them.
Actually I don't need you to acept them, just don't decry them unless you have documentation to the contary.:kisses3::kisses3::kisses3::kisses3::kisses3:
We need to meet up sometime

I have a motability car (on my third one now) and strictly speaking it should be for your Aunt's benefit not for her husband to drive to and from work. However, on the odd occasion it won't matter and to be honest how would motabilty know? They don't camp otuside your house and wait to check who is using the car.Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0

But the husband using it for work could be for the aunts' benefit.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

The majority of allegations for misuse of a car are made to the DWP, via the Benefit Fraud Hot Line, Internet etc. and are investigated by bad people like me.
In the last 18 months I have arranged for 2 cars to be recalled as they were not be used for the purpose intended, i.e. for the disabled persons benefit.
So be careful, it is not clear cut that using it for work etc will not affect the lease of the car, after all why should tax payers pay for Motability cars to be used for fit and well people to commute to work? I don't think that is right and have no qualms in removing cars where this is happening.:cool:0 -
Hi hun, I have had a mobility car for 20 years now and my husband is the other name on the insurance. Your uncle can use the car without you being in it but he is not allowed too use the car under the mobility law and by that I mean he cannot park in a disabled bay or use the blue badge. The blue badge is for the disabled person not the driver. So if your uncle uses the car please make sure that he does not park in a disabled bay or use the blue badge. My husband used my mobility car for several years without me being in it for work and he was fine as long as the disabled blue badge is not used.
I hope this is been of help.
best of luck0 -

Its the tax disc thats the problem and you can be fined for wrongful use as in your husband using it for work, we got a letter from the DVLA even though we were doing nothing wrong, we have 3 cars, ones each and the family car, my disabled tax is on my car which I use during the week to run around in so we are doing nothing wrong.0 -

Motability are a very nice organization and very easy to speak to, so I'd give them a call if you need clarification. RSA on the other hand..........!Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0 -
At last a few posts from people that actully understand the issue :T:T:T
Lyniced, it's not a motability issue, it's a DVLA one. Motorbility have been giving misleading advice if they say the car can be lent or borrowed with road tax issues.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
