Hi everyone, great stuff, we're all doing so well!
Lalli - legs, eyes and fingers crossed. Have you thought of advertising your bookkeeping services on Gumtree: Gumtree.co.uk, and Google Places? Google.co.uk/places
Both are free to advertise and target your town/city. Google Places is like Google's yellow pages. Anyone googling e.g. bookkeeper in Manchester, say, your name will come up if you are in Manchester.
Good luck
Sold a paperback on Amazon today £3.05, and a credit in my paypal account of $0.84 (53p) for an overpayment from a seller.
Running total £91.58 - approx £168 to go.0 -
I am thinking of starting up Avon once we move house, I'm not wanting to do it for the money (altho it wil help!) but to help me get out and meet people as once we move I will be leaving my wonderful job here behind and I will need to get out and meet people or i'll be driven insane by baby talk all day! And i don't want to get a job which isn't flexible because once we havea bigger mortgage we won't be able to pay childcare etc so it has to fit in with Hope. how have you found it coco?
4 of my 5 lots ending today have sold. Some of it proper bargains- 99p for a baby sleeping bag which cost me £29.99! But at least it gets shut of it anyway! So I think out of them 4 lots I made about £8. The rest end tomorrow, one of the lots is 4 baby dresses and they're on £5 already adn there are 8 watchers so fingers crossed!0 -
Hi Lorri, I love doing Avon. Over the years I give up the large coverage of Avon (because of my other work commitments) and after 6 years I still have a same 4 regulars who I love to chat with and the only reason I didn't stop doing Avon. Its great to do it if you have a baby - you can take her(?) with you and I bet you lots of people will be cooing over her (especially new mums+ older ladies) making new friends easy. The money is hit and go - some times especcially coming to Christmas you can make good sum, other times people feel the pinch and tend to save on luxuries. It also depends on how big area do you want to cover? There are also lots of perks like the Avon magazine for reps only which carries all the clearance lines at a great budget price- I especciallly love their parfums / face creams and jewellery and they also make good presents at a fraction of the price. I hope you will take up Avon and enjoy it as mutch as I do.

What a morning! I have sold a YSL lipstick on e-bay a way back- buyer contacted me that 'item not as described' (what a lot of rubbish!) and she would like a refund. I decided that its way to difficult to prove that the item was as described (even that I have 200+ 100% positive feedback) and just cut my losts (£7) and refund her money and 'appologize' for her disapointment. I did this promptly and thought the matter was closed!
How wrong was I ?!? I got an e-mail from ebay telling me that the buyer escalated the case stating that I never replied / refunded her and my account will be frozen until the refund is issued! I got on the phone straigh away and they were very helpfull - checked all the details- yes, the refund was issued way back and the case will be closed. Just make you wonder why the hell did the buyer pursued it? E-bay suggested that she was maybe trying to get a double refund. My worries now about a possible negative feedback- e-bay reassured me thath the buyer has no right to give me a negative feedback but if this happens I have to get in touch with then again! What a farse! As I said I have a 100% positive feedback that I think helps a lot with selling things on e-baye especially when most states 'item as described / fast delivery/ would buy again' etc. I only once have a problem with a buyer years ago and as a result I stopped using e-bay for over a year! Sorry about the rant but I got very annoyed..."NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS FREE FOOD"

You're right to be annoyed, some people just want something for nothing, she probably thought you'd just refund her again. Either that or she is very stupid and didn't notice the extra money in her account. Don't you just hate people sometimes :mad:0

God that's rubbish, it sounds like she was trying to get you to pay her again. A friend of mine had something similar recently with Amazon, it was ridiculous. I hope that you don't get negative feedback from it.
Well the rest of my ebay bundles finish in half an hour so i'll see what i get in total...
I logged onto amazon this morning and i've sold 3 items over night! one a cd for 40p (so not great profit there!!) another a book for £3.50 and another a text book for £15!!!!!!! I'm amazed! i really hope that i get to my total by mid aug!!
I thought perhaps we should introduce ourselves a bit more? I mean we know all about our money issues and how we're trying to stay afloat but do we even know what our names are, where we're from, what we do etc etc?0 -

Just a quick update- all my e-bay lot sold- most of it only for 99p but one item fetched £12.50 so overall cleared £20 in profit after postage and fees.

I have now listed 22 books on amazon- but still no sale to date- i can't wait to sell my first book!
The carboot sale seem in jeopady tomorrow- its very wet and cold (13celsius) in here and the weather forcast is a same for tomorrow... Well, I still load up my car tonight and see how is it looks tomorrow morning (at 5 am!), might just have to go back to bed.
I hope you are doing well with your moneymaking efforts, wow lorrie you are almost there...

Your amazon sales will come through eventualy coco! Just make sure you have them priced competitively.
I'm a bit gutted cos only 5 of my 13 lots on ebay sold. I am going to relist them this evening as they all had watchers but they finished at 9am this morning so i think they may fair better if they're finishing in the evening. I have the whole lounge full of things to post! I dread trying to get to the post office! I am waiting till Stu gets home so I can go as ther eis no way I can walk there with the pushchair and about 7 parcels!
I really hope we all meet our targets! Once I've reached £400 I'm going to think about setting another one...!0
