Nothing worse than deciding whos name goes on which energy suppliers lol. Plus internet.
Never had to deal with bills, actually Kingston we paid bills to the ll but it wasn't much at all between 5 rooms, Crouch End was prepay which we took off our rent when we put money on meters. Other than them times never had a problem.0 -
I say go for Beckenham as previously suggested but go for near New Beckenham station, this is on the line into Charing Cross (25 mins) and once there you can walk for 10 minutes to Soho.0

I'd say have a look at Wandsworth (especially since you have connections with the Wimbledon area). Very low council tax (half of Richmond, Kingston etc) and a number of decent areas, depending on budget.0

I work in Barking but live in Wanstead. Wanstead's really nice. Barking is depressing but not particularly dangerous, I don't think. Some dodgy types but not more dangerous than other some places? Good luck with everything anyway.0

SoThese probs exist everywhere, and you cant escape them without being in a Zone 1 apartment block but still the homeless people and rubbish situation wont be dramatically better.
The rubbish probably will be. We live in central London, and have 11 rubbish collections a week...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Tis wonderful to see you back Neverdespairgirl
Completely agree about the litter. Although I am staggered at the improvements of Elephant and castle . My freind came to visit and she used to live in E&C and she hadnt been there for almost 5 years and she noted huge improvements. We have seen a large decant though of a massive estate due to be bulldozed, so it feels like there are less people here. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

My friend lived in Vauxhall so I think I'd ask her to come look at places with me as I have heard similar to what you've said. Worrys me how close to Brixton it is too. What areas of Vauxhall would you avoid? Like is everywhere south Vauxhall bad or the east.etc.
I work in Vauxhall.
DO NOT LIVE THERE! ITS IS A TOILET! I HATE IT! ITS AWFUL! ITS A HOLE! DO NOT LIVE THERE! ITS BAD ENOUGH WORKING THERE! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!Mortgage debt - [STRIKE]£8,811.47 [/STRIKE] Paid off!0 -
I've seen places for 1k a month lmao
What nut would pay such prices. Just for a box.
I pay approx that for a lovely period flat with private garden in a nice area. Happy to pay for space, privacy and not having to look at other people's pubes in the bath.
OP, there are 3 criteria that are affecting your decision:
- length of commute
- budget
- cat
You may have to compromise on one of these. How does having a cat work in a house share- will it have run of everyone's rooms? What about cat flap, litter tray and bringing in "presents"? Won't you be concerned about the proximity of so many busy roads? They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -

I don't think I need to change my criteria as I have found places that fit it just I don't know the areas.
Remus is an indoor cat so it would mean no "presents", busy road accidents or cat flap. It would mean a litter tray but he is excellent with it and as to where he can go, well that would be a discussion with room mates.0 -

So you'd reccommend looking into Elephant and Castle?0
