Think Haldey house is still open, was a few months ago when I was last up there! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
yes!!! if you want to check out wanstead let me know i can show you around!!! i am a big convert to the area. no area is perfect but it is relatively cheap and also nice and feels safe. it has delis and indpendent cafes and gift shoppy things. i love belgique which has lots of pattisserie style cakes and is starting to do evening meals now. It is so green there with lots of lovely parks. it has a community feel (well as much as you can get in london) with community events tree planting etc and family summer fete events. london is not perfect, there are still dodgy people around, but i feel happy and relaxed in wanstead. choice of 2 tube stations. oxford circus 27 mins approx. i love eagle pond as well. also if you want to go to walthamstow village, which is nice, you can get a bus easily and its not far away. but i think it feels a bit safer than walthamstow village, although there are some really nice buildings and shops there. good luck xx0

Oh I love Eagle Pond. Tis just so lovely!
That carvery nearby is pretty good as well
Down on Whipps Cross road there is a lovely lake there with boating, have you been??, tis just so great there. Love the woods, love the forest, love everything about it. When it snows, it is just SOOOOO lovely there!
Home Of the great Alfred Hitchcock, you cannot miss "the birds" that sit and fly all about on the "flats"the Alfred hitchcock pub also does great food ( South african pub) but the rooms arnt much to sing about my folks said.
I love the green in the middle, tis very community feel there, even the random homeless person who used to sit outside Somerfield was quite posh lol
Walthamstow also great for bargain shopping, great market bargain meat from proper butchers, fruit & veg and every shop you'd ever need. I used to do most of the food shopping there in walthamstow and bus back on the 257 ( happy days)
Leytonstone only has a rubbishy tescos that is always packed, but does have other independent shops including quite a big Turkish Food Centre ( small chain) which is great.
The vietnames place is the NAMAN, have you been there, highly recommended by me:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

yes i love holow ponds, wanted my sister to go ona boat with me but she said no. too scared!! nice just to walk around with an ice cream. the parks are great but also have a slightly unearthly quality, a bit lunar like. i think its so weird when you see wanstead flats with canary whafr and city in background. but i like it. haven't been to vietnamese yet but want to. want to go to all the restaurants. i know its so sad but i am really proud to live in wanstead. want to spread the word cos not many people haveheard about it0

Hello again all!
Had problems with my new job but sorted now so looking for places again. I've found a few I'm planning on looking at and they are in the following areas. Should I avoid any of them. ie. bad area?
Thanks for your help again- Malden Road, Camden
- Rowstock Gardens, Holloway
- Fife Road, Kingston Upon Thames
- Cambridge Road, Leytonstone/Wanstead
- Alexandra Road, Hendon
- Leith Road, Alexandra Palace
- Jeymer Avenue, Willesden
- Bromyard Avenue, Acton
- Oaklea Passage, Kingston Upon Thames
- Leicester Road, East Finchley
- Argyle Road, West Ealing
- Beechmount Avenue, Hanwell
- Bowness Crescent, Putney
- Marylebone Street, West End
Another thing is my boyfriend is going to be visiting on his motorbike so if there is nowhere for him to keep it or its an area where its likely to be stolen then I'd like to avoid that too.0 -

- Rowstock Gardens, Holloway
- Fife Road, Kingston Upon Thames Travel might be too expensive as getting into town from there would entail an overground train journey as well as the tube
- Cambridge Road, Leytonstone/Wanstead
- Alexandra Road, Hendon
- Leith Road, Alexandra Palace This area of London is not well-served by public transport so you'd probs need to catch a bus to the nearest tube station
- Jeymer Avenue, Willesden
- Bromyard Avenue, Acton I think this part of Acton is industrial
- Oaklea Passage, Kingston Upon Thames
- Leicester Road, East Finchley
- Argyle Road, West Ealing
- Beechmount Avenue, Hanwell
- Bowness Crescent, Putney Putney is lovely.
- Marylebone Street, West End This would be my first choice as you could walk to work from there. parking might be a b1tch though
Have a look on the streetmap website to check which tube stations are near your addresses and then perhaps take a look at the Transport for London site (tfl.gov.uk) to check transport links.0 -
If there's something your price range that isn't a rabbit hutch in Marylebone Street, that's a lovely area to live and so central, no worries about tubes at all.
Don't know any of the others, but that's quite a list to check out, are these from ads you have seen? Property moves quite fast, so get a move on or you'll be posting here every week with a new list that will expire before you get to see anything.0 -

- Jeymer Avenue, Willesden

- Oaklea Passage, Kingston Upon Thames
- Leicester Road, East Finchley Nice Rd!
- Argyle Road, West Ealing
