I always check my receipt in Supermarkets. I do it as I am walking out of the shop pushing my trolley. Discovered years ago that I have a talent for remembering the shelf price for nearly every item for some strange reason. My OH thinks it's really odd and he used to try to catch me out by reading items from the receipt hours later and asking me the price. Usually spot on, but sometimes a few pence out. I also remember the BOGOF and 2 for £x offers. I think I've just been brainwashed as I buy the same items most shops!

  • I once bought some reduced cakes from ADSA. Supposed to be 52p but scanned at £173.06!!! Cashier had to call a supervisor to remove the item from the till as it was high value.
  • I've always found Asda to be more than fair in refunding.

I once bought a lettuce, which, when I cut it open had loads of little flies in. I happened to mention it to the cashier next time I went and she said I should have taken it back. By this time I'd thrown it away, but they refunded me AND gave me a free lettuce too.

The cashier once told me that they'd had a chap return a toothbrush because it was "too big for his mouth" :rotfl: and they even refunded him for that. She said it was policy not to argue, just refund.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Not had a response, do you a think a week is a reasonable time?
    Next stop, Head office?

Received a very nice 'bespoke' letter today and £15 gift card as gesture of goodwill.

The £15 is a bonus, we were more pleased with the response in the letter.

Have continued to shop there anyway as they do offer the best value. Funnily enough I received an email last week to say home delivery is now available in our area so might give that a bash.

    Right who's next.....C&G I think !!

Thanks to everybody for their responses, particulary KK.
