    Many thanks for your encouragement

Would you believe that 7 weeks ago, we thought that by NOW we would have been near enough through and moving in soon, and now we are looking at Xmas. Shows how naive we were (and we have done this once before - but pulled out right at the end).

Will be speaking to sol tomorrow and stress need to push things along.

We are going back to property on Tuesday to measure up and check out some things that were picked up through the HB report.

Here's to lots of moves come December !!!

Well, we spoke to the solicitors today.

There is only ONE thing outstanding - the lease agreement. They are hoping to get it this week, so fingers crossed....... and toes ....... and ......
  • We got our fixtures and fitting list from the solicitor today. They are pretty much leaving everything apart from their white goods.

This also means that we get their lovely curtains AND net curtains....yuk!

The vendors are waiting for their imigration papers to come through for Oz so I guess until they know more about that, we can't really start talking about exchanging and completing dates.

The solicitor also want a copy of the valuation report. Does this mean the whole survey or just the page confirming the valuation? If they want the whole survey then we'll have to take it all apart and do a whole lot of photocopying!

    Hi guys,

izoom - you might beat me yet, small glitch on sellers side (he's transferring the mortgage to another house he owns due to tie ins).

Man_Lucy - I would guess they want just the valuation bit as they don't really need the survey - this is for you, not them. Although if they had a copy, it would be useful if something happened to your copy.

Well considering we started three weeks before you we really should but I don't think so.

I am so confused about when we need to exchange in relation to the rented notice that we need to give, as well as taking into account the period I cannot get holiday at work. . . do you have any idea what I am on about. I don't anymore ...

    WOW Congratulations.

That is just fantastic - 6 weeks all in all.

I am sooooo jealous - the way things are going we are looking at bloody December now.

Break open a bottle of bubbly - the packing will fly by then.

    Best of luck
  • I hope you guys catch up soon........

    Wow. :j

You started at the same point as me as well!

I, however have just had a call from the estate agents asking if we're still looking for a property!! It really makes you wonder :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • Time for me to join in on this. I'm a FTB and I had an offer of 90,500 accepted on a very nice house. After a few problems with a pretty decent quote finally got my solicitor sorted now. I used https://www.conveyancing-quote.com and they have linked me up with a solicitor in Southampton (I live in Tyne and Wear area) so all will be done by post, email, phone and text which is fine by me. I'll let you know what they are like.

My orginal Mortgage advisor at HSBC has left so I have to wait till next Monday before I can get a meeting with my new advisor so hopefully that will all get signed next Monday.

At the minute the current owners are looking for a house still but I'm not really in a hurry so I don't mind. I'm therefore expecting January before I move in but Solicitor hasn't had their say yet.

Anyway I'll add my details in my sig now. I'm so happy :rotfl:

Just a bit of advice toon, I wouldnt start incurring costs untill your vendor has found something it get your mortgage sorted etc, but hold off on surveys, searches etc. Congratulations, post the link of your pad so we can all have a nose.
