Sorry for just jumping in but i really need some advice!
Alfie will not stop crying and its driving me madHe never lets me put him down, as soon as i do he starts screaming then if i pick him up he stops crying and smiles. I just don't know what to do. Do i just keep picking him up to stop him from crying or do i leave him for a bit? Generally if i leave him he just screams and screams
Its really starting to wear me down and i'm feeling really guilty towards jake as i feel like i've hardly got any time for him as Alfie's so demanding.Started Slimming World 5/7/11 Weight loss so far 1 stone 11lbs :T

Do you have a sling, Luce? A nice soft fabric one can be a godsend if you have a LO who likes to be held. At Alfie's age I personally wouldn't really try leaving him, but I'm no expert by any means.
Did MOTM come back and update us on the MW appointment? I hope Lucy and bubs are okay.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Luce, I think all babies go through that phase. It's unbelievably annoying but I promise it passes. What I did was buy a slingOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I haven't got a sling. I've got a baby carrier but it tends to hurt my back if i wear it for too long. Might have to invest in a sling, where would i get one from? Sugar, i will cling onto that thought that it passes!Started Slimming World 5/7/11 Weight loss so far 1 stone 11lbs :T

Krystal re the Lazy eye thing, ( I have/had a lazy eye and had to wear the pirate patch) ring the doctor direct and aske them to refer her to the eye clinic, lazy eyes are hereditary and if your hubby had one then the eye clinic will want to see her.
Even if you had a HV theres nothing they would do except refer her anyway and it'll probably get done quicker if you ring the GP
Millie went for about 2 years cos I thought I saw something and I was worried because of the hereditary thing, they just kept checking her and she was fine, I felt a bit silly at first because I thought they wouldn't be able to test her sight until she could talk/read but they can.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
Thanks Millie's MumA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Worth the money, IMO.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0

Luce, I got mine online. There's a PT poster who runs a sling website, it's called Kangarinos, but I also have a length of sari fabric that does the job perfectly and was cheaper than buying one :money:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Sorry for the panic earlier and having to rush off, I probabky should have left it all for tonight.
Before I start, congrats Delain and welcome to you and your beautiful baby :T
I'll C&P what I posted in 'less than 12 weeks pregnant' thread, changing OH for Lucy as you all 'know' her here.
Okay, basically we saw a midwife who was filling in for the one that we would usually see and Lucy is apparently quite big for someone in her 9th week, especially as she's a petite frame.
The midwife was quite abrupt and said this could be for a number of reasons, including getting the conception date wrong or twins/multiples.
The upsetting thing was, aside her rudeness as if we were taking up her valuable time, that she then started talking to Lucy about the possibility of miscarriage and VTS if their are twins or multiples, which I didn't think was needed, not just at this stage, but in her cold manner. Their were other midwives there who were speaking to us whilst we were waiting etc (seemed like a slow day) and had it not been for them being so friendly, Lucy would be more teary than she is.
I wasn't expecting any attention, i'm not carrying a baby and I was there to support Lucy, but midwife didn't even acknowledge me (the others did and were generally friendly).
Now this is Lucy's first baby and she's anxious enough without having a midwife, who had others not been there to vouch for her, i'd have guessed was some woman who'd come in off the street and just decided to be a midwife for the day, being so 'off' with her. Maybe I was the problem, but she seemed grumpy with her colleagues too.
Anyway, we go back on Tuesday, when her normal midwife will be back. She will have a scan (around 10 weeks) to check for anything and we should be told what is going on inside of Lucy
What can they tell us? If there are any problems? Twins? Multiples? Anything? Midwife left us in the air.
All the talk about twins and multiples have come at a bad time with my twins having a Birthday tomorrow. Not that it will upset Lucy, but it's an added reminder of twins being born. I'm possibly making more out of that than she will, but i'm thinking of all scenarios here.0 -
Thankyou both
will look into buying one, i think it could be a godsend at the minute.
Sorry to hear about the midwife MOTM she sounds really rude and very unprofessional. At the scan they'll be able to give you an accurate due date and be able to tell you if there is more than one.
Happy birthday to your twins for tomorrow thoughStarted Slimming World 5/7/11 Weight loss so far 1 stone 11lbs :T
