    Evening everyone,

congratulations delain!! baby chloe is gorgeous!

MOTM, Some midwifes just have no tact, when i was 7-8 weeks pregnant with jake i had a bleed, managed to get a scan the same day at the epu and they proceeded to tell me i had a 50% chance of a miscarriage even though we had just seen a healthy heartbeat:mad: it was in the back of my mind the rest of the pregnancy and i couldnt relax at all!! i still dont understand what possessed them to tell me that, there was absolutely no need!
  • Thanks on both counts.

Is DD1 the one that got her GCSE's on Tuesday? What does she do? Last year my eldest got her GCSE's and now works part time in a local shop and does NVQ during Playgroup time at the playgroup close to us and my now 16yo is just going to college - no work for her.

Just wondered if she was doing something similar to start her on the road in earning some money? I know you said she was going to college to do nursing, but it sounds as if she has a job too :D
She works in a large retail store ( where I work and OH is deputy manager :) ) she works 4 evenings and is just doing it for pocket money and at £6.24 shes on a lot more than most of her friends per hour whilst she goes to college so nothing to do with her chosen career path. I am enjoying seeing her excitement at spending all her hard earned money:)
You can kind of see it on this photo... http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=6727058&l=cf7f08d17b&id=540180659

Dave can see it anyway... And it's the same side he's blind in and the same side his Dad had his lazy eye... I think I'll book her in once Aimee's back to school... Either that or wait until this baby is born and take advantage of the health visitor home visit... If I get one... lol...
Is it just that one of her eyes isnt quite as open as the other? sometimes I wondered if LO had a lazy eye but think its just the shape of her eyes x

Luce - Landen has recently come out of the exact same thing, so it does pass. Have you tried swaddling? From everything I've read and from Landen, I think at this age just give them what they seem to want. Its not attention seeking at this age imo, he needs something and it may be a cuddle and being able to smell you. I'd say tonight, take one of his blankets to bed with you, have it under your pillow etc and during the night your scent will transfer onto it, and you could try swaddling him with that/putting him in a swing/bouncer with it and see if it helps.... I've started taking one of the soft toys for Landen into bed with me to get my scent on it so he'll have a comforter to help him learn to self soothe later on.

Thanks CAFC, Its nice to know it is just a phase :) Will try that with the blanket and also the toy, i haven't tried swaddling him, will give it a go.

FWIW i would try the dream feeding, we've been dream feeding Alfie for the past couple of weeks and he's sleeping a lot better now. He still wakes around 4/5 am for a feed but it's a lot better than what it was. Kindof gave me the link to this if its any help?

Tia is super smart :) MOTM you should listen to her :D

I had unbelievable bloating at the start of pregnancy (looked like I did at 5 months :rotfl:) and then the bloat vanished but I didn't have a waist any more, just straight down, then after that I had a proper bump. I'm very petite as well.

    Sorry I'm a bit dumb but what's a VTS :o

I'm sure everything will be fine though.

I reckon I'll be keeping Keira off nursery again tomorrow, she's totally bunged up and being whingy because of it, she did scoff a bowl of tikka and rice earlier but that is the first and only thing she has eaten today. I always fret when she gets ill and doesn't eat, she seems to manage to be able to drop 2kg in weight just from picking. She'd just look odd without her chubtastic cheekies.

Have to nip to the garage for diet coke, Im havig major food in general withdrawels and those scales are being crap, I mean I should totally be a stone lighter already :p
  • MOTM - did the MW actually examine her or did she just look at her?

They don't normally touch you until your 12 week scan here.

Would you say that Lucy is showing?

    And what is a VTS?
