MOTM - i know you and I dont "know" each other but I've got a couple of pregnancy books sat here taking up much needed space on my book shelf if you and Lucy would like them. One of them is american so some of the OB GYN stuff doesnt apply but both have good info in them. If you would like them, just pm me xWealth is not measured by currency0

Thats a very nice offer from you, thank you.
I'll ask Lucy, but she'll probably say, as we're in a strong financial position that we should buy things ourselves and you should save the books for someone who would be happy to save the money (I'm sure there will be a few on the pregnancy thread)
Don't take that the wrong way, it's very kind of you and most appreciated.
I hope that comes out right

September 4th you come down to Exeter. Sadly I think we both have different aims this season.
Good to hear, last thing I wanted to do. Lucy and I both have issues accepting things from other people at the best of times.
I'm sure you'll have new homes for the books in no time. What are they titled by the way? So we can check them out anyway.0 -
pregnancy for dummies is one.....
no offence meant by offering you that one
and blooming pregnancy is the other...Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

:rotfl:The first one suits me perfectly.
We could have a look for them at the library. We planned too have a look there, so will jot the names down and look for them at your recommendation.0 -
CAFC, what did your HV say when you refused them?0

MOTM they are called Sock-ons - again this is the first link I found, so no idea if it is the cheapest one or not.
We have tooth number 10 here, but it is not the one I was expecting to be number 10, so I suspect we will get number 11 and possibly number 12 in the next week. That would explain the grumps then!
We are going out for dinner tonight, but DH is asleep on the sofa and my parents aren't here to babysit yet. Maybe I'll just take a book and go on my own

MOTM I had this book for pregnancy and the related one for the baby. I highly, highly recommend them, but can't send either to you even if you'd accept them because the first one is now with my Very Best Friend (having gone via a good friend who had her baby a couple of weeks ago) and I'm saving the other for once my VBF's baby is ex utero.
Just a recommendation if you were looking for one. I found the What To Expect books very alarmist, TBH, full of the dangerous things that are incredibly rare and lacking in "it's uncomfortable and undignified but probably totally normal".
Vaccination wise, Molly's getting the MMR as single shots but I wouldn't want her not vaccinated. Other people have different concerns and I don't judge anyone else's choices - but while I think MMR is too much at once, I do want her getting the shots.
Edit: SJ if you search the Javari site for hush puppies there are some lovely green shoes for quite cheap

MOTM - I bought 2 books on pregnancy but hardly read them because I signed up to the Babycentre emails which are absolutely fantastic!!
Definitely recommend them
AF used to get hers the week after me because she was due a week later than me and I used to be dying to tell her what was coming up!! We used to enjoy discussing them and how our babies were developing etc. Hubby loved them too (I forwarded them on each week)
Thanks for the weight loss compliments guys. I am low-carbing. Still a long way to go though
We cheated last night and had a chinese...although I didn't have carbs really, just ribs and hot and sour soup...and a prawn cracker or 2 :doh:please listen to MFD - she is a wise woman
