I would look at the most expensive comparable trip that is convenient for you all and add on the difference in price between that and the Bastage Camp holiday. And then I would add a bit. And a bit more.

    I like your thinking! ;)

I did suggest to OH that the only thing that would make us all feel better would be two weeks all inclusive in a 5* hotel somewhere hot!
He just gave me a roll eyes look and went off to work.

Although I wish I could charge the barstools £500 for every damn tear that your family has shed over their !!!!!!! incompetence and ignorance.

L is claiming she was so distressed, that is the reason she was in the same clothes, day & night, from Sunday until I forced her into the bath yesterday. Seriously, I just think she was being a minger. :rotfl:

:rotfl:@ your step dad. I know people who were made to call step parents mum or dad and I think that it's the childs choice.

    I like 'L's method :rotfl:

My cousin is married to a man who had two lo's before he met her. They were only tiny, and their Mum told them they must call step dad dad, even though they had a fantastic relationship with their real dad and his wife (my cousin!).
The poor little boy must have been about 5 when he phoned his real Dad from home and called him his real name, because Mum and 'Dad' don't like him to call him Dad.

    Poor confused boy! :(

3, I have been doing some research on Bastage Camp and their website makes specific mention that they are open to all kids on the spectrum ("severely autistic" is the quote) - so their advertising is definitely misleading. I took a screenshot to that effect, so if they change it later let me know.

I wish we could do something concrete to help you.

Lovely relaxing morning - a thoroughly German massage, this huge muscular German was up on the bed almost standing on me trying to get my muscles to relax (working so hard she actually dripped sweat on me a couple of times and had a sweat cloth across her shoulder :rotfl:) and then the most thorough facial ever.

Although she started telling me that I have "an army of blackheads" on my chin and that is the fault of a sluggish digestive system and asked me how often I pooped. I pretended not to understand her.

Hairdresser was a bit too Germanified for my tastes, I explained that I wanted a graduated bob with disconnected ends and ended up with a modified Hillary Clinton. But he was very nice and so I just got on with things and in future will stick to UK haircuts. I may also have got a bit overexcited in the birthday spirit and bought myself a pair of shoes but they were on sale and they're gorgeous.

LOL - I am such a meanie compared to you lot!!

If someone asked me if my step sons were all mine I would tell them that it was none of their business!!! Or say something like 'why, would you like to buy one of them?' or 'well I can't see anybody else claiming them'.
:rotfl:I particularly like the would you like to buy one.

Glam that all sounds far too grown up and sensible for me ;)

We always discuss things and make decisions together, as my options are limited I don't want to rush into something so talk it through with him. He is very much a pessimist so always looks at what could go wrong and he's just concerned about the risks of having something in the womb, and I can see where he's coming from so respect that. It's got nothing to do with him thinking he might feel it :rotfl:(although maybe in his head a small part might think that!)

OH used to never ever make decisions and left it all to me (basically so if it was the wrong decision it wasn't his fault!) but I've got him out of this habit now so we always make our decisions together.

I have a Stepdad who is fantastic - call him by his first name. He gets Father's Day cards
I have a Stepmum who like EA isn't with my Dad anymore - she is Lucy (;)) and is about 13 years older than me. I don't call her mum but gave her Mother's Day cards and am still very much in contact with her as she was more of a friend that a mum to me.

I agree with Sami - a cheeky remark to a cheeky question usually does the trick ;)

Bah, it's raining and I have a long walk to the car :(

Can you tell work is quiet today? :o

As long as he has you at heart, that's what matters, but this is something you have to make the final decision about. It''s good you talk as it shows strength in your relationship.

Lucy is your stepmum? She kept that quiet :rotfl:

All point at the meanie. To be fair, i'm a fairly straightforward person and tell people to mind their own alot, but sometimes when other people are around, I tend to be more diplomatic. I tend just to laugh at peoples comments or make out they're crazy. I'm not rude, but firm.

Good to hear. Not such a minefield after all. Glad I asked now.

That's horrible and not fair on the lad. Horrible for the real dad too to hear his son call him by his name. Heartbreaking.

I'm gonna dash and help with dinner. Never expected such a big response, so thank you. I'll pop back later for a few minutes, but in the meantime, enjoy the rest of your days.

How are you & your lot?

SS I have the screenshot too - I have a feeling it may be reworded sometime soon.

The German massage sounds . A big scarey german lady discussing your blackheads and poop.

I love your pretty new shoes. :smileyhea

I've just had an email from the National Autistic Society.
I am extremely sorry to hear about your experience on the camp. I am afraid we cant get directly involved with your complaint but I have informed our directory team of your experience.
I thought they might have been quite shocked, particularly about the healer!

I've noticed that the camp organiser has defriended me on facebook. Gutted! :p

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Just noticed OH hasn't but the bins out! That means the binmen will now forget we exist next week and I'll be back on the phone to them everyday while rubbish piles up!

Just asked Chris if he would eat Gma's hotpot or does he want her to do him fish fingers and chips (his general default answer to "what do you want to eat?") He said he wants "Chicken dippers and vegetables but not too many, that would be bad" he's seriously not right in the head that child :p

 in a strangely satisfying way though. I'm a weird one at heart.

The camp organiser is clearly a bastage worthy of bastage camp. Did you hear anything more from the volunteers?

Actually I was wondering if it would be worth sending a fictitious email asking about my (hypothetical) teenager and whether the camp would be suitable.

And on a completely different note, a tearjerking video for you.
