SJ - are you worried? He has plenty of time for growing, if he is happy, alert and sleeps/eats then what is the problem? You can only get a 'smallest' to 'biggest' scale if some babies are 'small' and some are 'big' :D

How far is he off weaning do you think? Is he sitting? Can he co-ordinate hand to mouth? Does he tongue thrust?

That's exactly what I said to her! DH is big and tall now but he and I were both small babies. I know he's small but he is growing (13oz over the last 7 weeks) and he's happy so I'm happy. She even said to me that he could get ill if he dropped below the next line, and mentioned that we hadn't been in for quite a while. I pointed out that he is well, and if there was any indication that he wasn't then of course I'd be taking him in or to a Dr.

He can sit up straight but hasn't quite got the balance yet, doesn't look like it'll be long though. He has almost perfect hand to mouth coordination! And lots of tongue poking. He's had apple, celery and carrot raw and gummed them quite happily. I would start weaning about now thb but we are away at MIL's all next week so was waiting til we got home as it'll be so much easier to just bf while we're there.
Oh you're going back...I was just thinking, they are older than that....:rotfl:

Even tougher when you consider their mother gave up on them after they were born. The twins were what broke the camels back I think.

As with most things though, you get through.

That's really sad :( Well done you for doing it all by yourself. (I totally don't mean that in a patronising way, but in an admirable way but I can't seem to word it right lol)

It's 6hrs between nurofen and 4hrs between calpol....I tend to write on a piece of paper something like......

    calpol nurofen
    7am 7am
    11am 1pm
    3pm 7pm
    7pm

That way it is continuous throughout the day with a double dose at bedtime and I can tick off as I give it so I don't forget and either miss one/overdose them!!! Obviously the times may change, depending on bedtime/waking time of the child;)

Just written you timings down and gonna use them now cheers...

The older two have had it done to them twice, so it's pretty rough. I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to walk away from your own children and never contact them again. If they tried now, they'd be told by the girls to 'go away', at least by 6 of them. 15yo may add a few other words in:o

Anyway, Lucy is the best....apparently

Pleased you had a good holiday Aless apart from the flight home.

Maz - sorry to hear it's chicken pox. Hope it clears up soon and he's not too poorly with it xx

Sorry to hear about the college course EA. What are you studying? If the Open Uni do it, I can highly recommend them. I've found them to be very efficient.

That's just reminded me, I just got 79% for my assignment on the big Amazon case study that involved some group work. Quite pleased with that. Just one more assignment to go and my final exam to do in October, then hopefully I'll have a degree.
Here I go again on my own....

Thanks MOTM, it is good to be home just to have a proper bed in our own house again! It was nice seeing all the family and having lots of baby minders on hand, though. We actually got the bassinet on the airplane on the way home, but Finn didn't want to sleep in it for 75% of the time, so it was near pointless. Even though I felt like crap, that flight actually went much smoother than the first (added bonus they didn't lose my luggage :p).

Wedding itself was nice, but Finn decided to be grotty during the whole reception, so I barely got a plate of food and 1 glass of wine the entire night, as the rest was spent sorting him out...I more feel bad for my sister as I wasn't really there much to support her IYSWIM. Also, my dress was still on the big side (even after having it altered a while back) so it made me look fat even though I'm about 10lbs lighter since starting WW :o. Also, DH was way too camera-happy during the trip, so our battery was dead well before the wedding so I don't have any pics of my own :(. So only a couple pics available, as my sis is now away on honeymoon for almost 2 weeks and my dad/his SO aren't back home for a couple weeks either (she took loads of photos).

Bah, need to stop procrastinating and go finish putting stuff away and then sort Avon orders () which arrived this morning and I totally CBA with dealing with...

Yes - start brushing now, but he doesn't need to see the dentist until he's about 2.

You can use a toothbrush (or a suitable bit of cloth but I used a tooth brush so don't know the details about the cloth). At this stage it's mainly about establishing the principle/routine of tooth cleaning. We just took Alice with us whenever we went to the dentist but they don't usually try to look in their mouth until they're about two or three.
