i just registered Kian last week, at this age going to the dentist is getting them used to it so when they are bigger its 'no big deal'. register him and then when you go bring E and he can have a check at same time. she checked his teeth as well so he gets used to that as well. and will do the same everytime i go
our dentist said to give them the brush and let them chew on it. this will get them used to the feel of the bristles. as they get more you can start to use a littlw toothpaste. we are advised here to use adult toothpaste as fluoride is not added to the water supply. but as i have a free tube of milk teeth paste i'll use that first.

I think you all took that a bit too literal...
We are away for along weekend on Firday after DH finishes work. Going to a caravan park and one of my best mates, her OH, their children, her OH's sister and BIL and their children will be there too. One of the children has the same condition as Chris, so will be interesting.0 -
Thanks MOTM, it is good to be home just to have a proper bed in our own house again! It was nice seeing all the family and having lots of baby minders on hand, though. We actually got the bassinet on the airplane on the way home, but Finn didn't want to sleep in it for 75% of the time, so it was near pointless. Even though I felt like crap, that flight actually went much smoother than the first (added bonus they didn't lose my luggage
).
Wedding itself was nice, but Finn decided to be grotty during the whole reception, so I barely got a plate of food and 1 glass of wine the entire night, as the rest was spent sorting him out...I more feel bad for my sister as I wasn't really there much to support her IYSWIM. Also, my dress was still on the big side (even after having it altered a while back) so it made me look fat even though I'm about 10lbs lighter since starting WW. Also, DH was way too camera-happy during the trip, so our battery was dead well before the wedding so I don't have any pics of my own
. So only a couple pics available, as my sis is now away on honeymoon for almost 2 weeks and my dad/his SO aren't back home for a couple weeks either (she took loads of photos).
Bah, need to stop procrastinating and go finish putting stuff away and then sort Avon orders () which arrived this morning and I totally CBA with dealing with...
It's always nice to have a break, but their is no place like home!
I'm sure your sister will understand. Children at weddings isn't usually a good mix and she'll likely realise you had your hands full.0 -
SJ did you speak to Zena or to the one with the 'Jazzy' hair? Neither of them are actually Health visitors, Zena is usualy very sensible (she has 5 kids of her own) the one with the hair is terrible, she really upset me once when I went with El. Alfie is fine, you know that don't you?
3 for what its worth I think you stick to the unemotional stuff for now and write a straight letter demanding a refund, once you have that shout from the rooftops about the terrible treatment you received.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
I spoke to Zena. She was a bit annoying to be honest, kept asking me the same questions over and over like she wasn't really sure what else to say to me. If he's growing slowly but eating plenty there's not really much to say though is there?! He's just growing slowly lol. Yeah I knwo he's ok. She said all this to me to which I kept saying that I thought he was ok, then at the end she said "so what do you think?" and i was like, well I've just been telling you what I think, I think he's fine!0

Well, Lucy is back and they didn't want her to go, but said they would accept her resignation but when she's had the baby and feels ready to return to work and a vacancy arose, she's be invited to apply.
She had to give a months notice, but is off this week and next week with holiday (timed for the girls school holidays), so just 2 weeks to go back too and she only works Thursday's and Friday's anyway, plus they said they'd try and find a replacement ASAP, so she hopefully doesn't need to go back at all as Lucy says one woman is always wanting more hours and she doesn't work the days Lucy does.
Also finished my work. Easy fixes for the final day and as a bonus the final customers PC had a topless lady as his desktop picture :rotfl: Maybe that's my leaving bonus
Now, the GP at 5.15. Lucy is nervous...so am I. Excited nervous. I have 7 girls who are pretty excited too.
Hope everyone is having a great day.0 -
Hugs all round. I just caught up but forgot everything I wanted to say.
Came home to find no Husband, no Molly and no broken Stokke so I can only assume they've gone out (edit:) to drop it off to have it repaired. I appear to be sitting on the sling though so I don't know how he plans to bring her home :rotfl:
SJ I can see your post while typing, and I think that some babies are just littler than others, which is why they're able to have percentiles. If he's feeding and happy and making plenty of dirty/wet nappies then there's probably nothing to worry about, you know?

Can anyone help with Beenie's complaint letter?
Topics to include are:- length of time taken to deal with complaint
- complaint not taken seriously
- no support given
- lack of information - not kept informed about progress or what was going to happen/be done
- not advised to keep noise diary
Specifics to include are:- HO's comment that she was only complaining about noise in order to move
- HO's comment about ex being able to find her even if she moved
- HO swearing
- HO's promise not to close the case on the basis of the staged sound test followed by no contact for three weeks then the case being closed
- Anything else anyone happens to remember that has been previously mentioned.
Since I've written a supporting letter, I don't want to put too much input into the wording because otherwise it may either sound like it's all me or that Beenie wrote it all and made me up.
A few quotes from the council website to help:The Council’s aim is to prevent the occurrence of anti-social behaviour and nuisance on its estates so that they remain safe environments where people choose to live.
We will respond to nuisance and harassment quickly and effectively and will make every effort to resolve such situations at the earliest opportunity. If we receive a report that nuisance/harassment has taken place we will:- Make sure that all complaints are taken seriously.
- Encourage those who are experiencing nuisance/harassment to play a full part in actions taken to deal with it. Their views will be taken into account in reaching decisions on courses of action and they will be kept informed of progress and also supported during any legal proceedings that may take place.
- Take firm and prompt actions against perpetrators, wherever appropriate and work with partner agencies to support victims in their homes.
- With the victims consent, work with other agencies wherever appropriate, to achieve a speedy resolution.
What is Nuisance Behaviour?
Nuisance can include types of behaviour that may not be intended to cause harm but unreasonably interferes with other people’s rights to the use and enjoyment of their home and community.
The Council acknowledges that everybody has the right to the quiet enjoyment of his/her home. By its actions, the Council will demonstrate that it will not tolerate any form of anti-social behaviour that affects its tenants, their families and their visitors. When you have reported a problem to a Housing Officer, all cases will be assessed to establish the severity of the problem.
Non-severe cases may be resolved immediately, e.g. abandoned cars.
More severe cases will be referred to an officer for investigation, if urgent this will occur immediately.
What will the Housing Officer do then?
If appropriate an interview will be arranged with you to:- Find out more about the anti-social behaviour
- Discuss what you can do to help yourself
- Explain what we and other agencies can do to assist e.g. talking to the alleged perpetrator
- If you or a member of your household are at serious risk we will contact you within one working day and arrange to interview you as soon as possible
- If you have experienced repeated incidents of harassment or nuisance or had one severe incident, we will interview you within one working day
- For other low level incidents we will ensure we arrange to interview you within three working days.
They will agree an action plan with you.
They will talk to the perpetrator if appropriate.
They will look at what repairs and security measures can be provided for you.
They will keep you regularly informed of any action they are taking.
They will work in partnership with other agencies such as the Police and other partners in the Community Safety Team to deal with anti-social problems. We will wherever possible put you in contact with other support services and appropriate agencies to enable support and practical assistance to be offered to you.Keep a detailed record of the nuisance and harassment you are experiencing, including the types of incident and when they occur. These details will be very useful if you need to contact us and will help build up a case where further action is appropriate.
This is done in most cases through recording events on diary sheets (copies can be obtained from all housing offices). The diary sheets will include dates, times and who was responsible for the behaviour. The sheets can be used to compile detailed statements for use in legal proceedings, where court action is appropriate.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

SJ - FWIW, Izzy pretty much stopped putting weight on when she learnt to roll over, then started loosing it when she learnt to crawl. Nothing wrong with her, she just doesn't stop moving, and it took a while for her apetite to catch up! I need to get her weighed again at some point - I get her to stand on the bathroom scales, but I know they're not very accurate. According to them she hasn't put any weight on since I last got her weighed, which was just after her birthday, but I want to get a more definite weight than "about 10kg".
