3 - we did the same - we were there out of season, so it would probably be jam packed in the holidays. You might be better trying something "non chain" that doesn't have entertainment etc?

(incase you do want a peek it was this one though!)

omg!! i am having the eaxct same problem but Kian wont take anything from a spoon apart from a yogurt, puree or desserts.

he is 10mths. he doesnt throw up though just cries... and shuts his mouth

when i asked the HV she told me that i had let Kian get in control of me and that i had to not give him a bottle when he was hungry so he would eat the food.

if we can get him to have a few piece of potato/veg/meat its a success. he was eating from a spoon but has taken a dislike to this as well.

a few RL mummies i have spoken to have said the same thing happened with 1 of theirs and that they tried to relax and make sure they were eating when LO was meant to be eating and just used words of encouragement when LO ate something. Finger foods are better for us as Kian seems to prefer what he does eat, with his fingers.

Kian seems to eat better at nursery and we think this is because everyone else is eating too. and in fact at the last parents meet, he did eat more (and swiped some bread from his birthday buddy lol).

i do get stressed by it all and i always feel a bit 'aagh' when other peeps seem to have no problems at all with weaning.

i just have to keep saying that he will eat eventually and he is just being awkward :rotfl:

as long as he is still growing and putting weight on i see no reason to overly panic, anything i have seen in 'nhs books' seems to suggest that if they are still not eating at 1yr that they would 'look into it further'.

If you find my posts from last year, you would see that I have probably written this word for word. K hated being spoon fed, he would scream and bash the spoon away, or clamp his mouth shut and spit out anything I did manage to 'get in'.....

My solution...I basically changed the whole family meal time from 6pm to 5pm so we all ate together and gave him the exact same food as us! It meant I had to stick with meals that could be eaten by fingers so he could have it too. I stuck with sort of meat/potatoes/veg/bean type meals if we were having gravy I would just put a sprinkling on his so it wasn't too dry, it was an instant success, he would happily sit munching away on broccolli, carrots, diced potaotes, chips, wedges, peas, sausage, chicken, pie...basically every type of food that he could easily pick up.

It REALLY helped that he was sat watching us eat and he would (and still does) polish off huge plates of food this way....I have never looked back:D

I don't want to be having tests etc. which aren't necessary and I can't see any reason to have the twelve week scan. (I'm not saying there's no good reason for anyone to have the scan - I'm sure a lot of people like the reassurance.)
    Thank you :)

I'm avoiding many of the routine tests myself this time around but will have the 2 standard scans, mostly to check that there's something there and it's alive at the first one and also because a friend of mine had a baby with anencephaly (graphic picture caution) that was picked up by a scan but wouldn't have been discovered otherwise so I suppose it's at the back of my mind... I won't be having the extra growth scans that they'll insist on though...

    Well done Tigs :)

3 - alternatively if you want to come visit Winchester (I'm not a scary stalker, I'm just procrastinating ;) ) I have found these, or possibly here (I don't know what the availability is like, as they tend to be full of summer schools, but they are nice enough inside for a holiday place :) )

    juat caught up...

    now my bad news....

someone tried to break-in last night and in doing so has totally knackered the patio doors so now they cant be opened at al. least the shoites who tried to get in didnt. but we are lookign probably at a complete new door and frame. its a big double sliding door as well. insurance should cover it but the excess is £100 so its highly unlikely that we will now be able to make the Birmingham meet. :(

have rang police and someone is meant to be calling around tonight. i know its not high priority but i hope they call tomorrow.

I understand the refusal of various tests, although it wouldnt be my preference to do so myself, but I thought the scans I had were quite special moments, the first time I got to see my baby IYSWIM. I'd have taken every opportunity offered to have the scans just cos I loved seeing him :)
