Gill, you realise your icon is still from the hen party? :P

MFD, awwwwwwwww poor B! Sounds like something I would do! :P :rotfl:

Hmmmm, am swaying back and forth on the shipping the pram thing...I think I could get more money for it as someone on eBay has offered full price BUT I've had someone local say can I wait until this next weekend for them to come see it? Decisions decisions...I think if the local person doesn't take it next weekend, I'll relist on eBay after we get back from the States and offer to courier it...(and cheekily raise the price 5 quid,)

Haha yeah I'm just too lazy to change it :o Sounds like a good plan re pram. Will make your life much easier if you can sell to someone local.

Busy weekend for me, so I've not been on. I see Tara had a fabulous day - lovely pics BTW.

I hope the sleep issue get sorted very soon, especially for Mel, who is doing an amazing job and managing to do hell of a lot more than I did with just the 1 baby.

I'm in work today so Ihave the next 2 days off - Tues for a meet with my RL mummy friends and weds for a meet with the MSE girlies :D

Jillie - fingers crossed your sickness has passed and Kian's will do soon!

Meh, not happy. I called Leaders to find out what time todays viewing was (mummy brain made me forget :p) and i find out they booked another one in for 2:30pm.

I said i wasn't told about it and she said "Well yeah its 2:30pm, thats ok ISN'T IT?" ¬¬

    And we have 3 tomorrow.

I cant wait to move and be able to have privacy again :D (and also to be able to sit around in my pjs with no bra on)

MFD :rotfl: Thats hilarious! I tease Lily all the time, but she smiles, so i assume she's enjoying it

My sunburn hurts so much! I want to lay in a bath of aftersun, but im to poor to buy that much to fill my bath with :p

Oooh, Lily can properly sit in her bumbo now and enjoy it! Before she would sit but not be happy about it and now she loves it!

Aless, the iCandy i sold came with footmuff etc so i used cling film to keep it all together and then put bin bags over and lots of parcel tape.

Not sure how a travel system would work - would it work out at paying for 2 couriers if you pay for 2 parcels?

The Joolz was packaged lovely when it came, lots of bubble wrap and plastic sheeting, and bin bags... she said it took her hubby ages, and i think it would have! I was lazy and a little worried how it'd fare in the depot but i had no complaints lol.

EA i can't believe how many people are viewing! Does that mean everyone is turning it down?!

I assume so, it looks ok in the pics. But when you get here you realise its a !!!!!! hole :rotfl:

Also, i imagine the noisyness from the main road is a putting off factor. But they cant make me close the windows because its gets to 27degrees in here with them shut.
  • EA - put your bottle of aftersun in the fridge - it is SO much nicer when it is really cold

Benjamin has a good sense of humour but yesterday I was teasing him by pretending to be cross and then when he hung his head (like he does when he is naughty) down I was laughing at him :o Not a very consistent message really - how does the poor mite know if I am playing and I am going to laugh in a second or if I am properly cross :o

He makes me laugh so much, yesterday morning he came to me asking to be picked up and was pointing and 'that'-ing at his thick winter coat which was hung on the back of a dining chair. So I let him get it and he gave it to me and stuck his arms out straight for me to put it on....so the strange child spent about 40 mins playing in the house with his thick winter coat on :rotfl::rotfl:

We were at a barbeque yesterday at my Aunties house. She has a cupboard full of toys from her grandchildren (8 & 3). V went rooting in the cupboard and brought the toy ironing board & iron out, set it up and started ironing discarded barbie clothes. :rotfl:

I've no idea where she's learnt how to do that. :p

That is too cute :rotfl:. I love V!

Thanks for all your comments today, sorry I haven't been on to reply until now, I tend to just read in the evening when Erin is in bed.

Aless - glad to know I'm not the only one in this situation. As you say though, we don't have any debt so are in a better situation than you. I hope we both manage to make it work somehow. I have £12k of student loan debt but do very well at not thinking about it!

Ladybird, thanks for your useful comments. I didn't know about the free nursery hours, will have to look into it. At the moment we can manage without the £200 but don't know if we would be better saving it for baby number 2.

Bruno, my life aims weren't high - get degree, get job, get a house (turned into a flat) and have a kid. So now I need new aims! I have two degrees so it seems odd to have worked all that time with the aim of getting a good job only to think now that I may not be able to afford to work in London.

Redmel, some very good points and thanks for sharing your experience. In my mind I wanted my kids about two years apart as that is the gap me and my sisters have and we are really close now but if it's just not viable then we may have to wait. All my family are back up north so way to far to babysit :( P.S. You have nothing to feel guilty about - you're not superwoman!

I know some of you are in much tighter financial situations and I don't mean to rub it in to anyone (sorry if it seemed that way) but it's still something I need advice on and I truly appreciate everyone's comments and think I have learnt a lot from everyone on this thread even though we are all in different situations.

Does anyone else have any views on working 4 day weeks? Not sure if anyone on here does that.

Tara - lovely wedding photos  it looks like you had a really good day :D

My views on working part-time are that I am hoping I will feel my usual useful self at work, but still get plenty of time with my little man. My Mum worked full time when my brother and I were little (she had no choice as she was a single parent for a while) and I know she regrets how much she missed of us growing up. It didn't have any negative impact on my upbringing, but I know she felt guilty. I suppose for me that has been a motivator in making sure I don't go back full time just yet. I'm hoping part time will work from a work point of view, although as you may have seen I have been offered a 'step back' short term so I would take on an assistant managers role for 6-12 months while H is so little, then step back up to manager when he is that little bit older and I feel more ready to take that full commitment back on. I think realistically this will make it easier for me to work three days for now, then probably go up to 4 days when H starts nursery in a year.

I shipped a Lola that I bought cheaply on netmums and hated! It was a PITA to be honest, but I just wrapped it in cardboard, bubble wrap and bin bags and it got there fine.

Rubbish night here too. I can only assume it was teeth as H was up pretty much every half an hour :(.
