I am looking at train times today :D But before I get tickets is coming up on the Friday night, going home the Monday OK? As that is coming up with the cheapest fares?

Are you coming up for a visit at Chez Caz? We need to try and organise a mini meet!

Thats great news :D Its a relief when things are sorted eh? When do you start back?
I've just been signed off for another fortnight with this stupid gammy shoulder. Its really starting to hack me off now :(
When I phoned my manager she still hasn't let on that a new Asst Manager has started and said when I'm due to come back from sick I've to take 3 weeks holiday. Feel a bit unwanted *sob*

K has 2 new teeth, away to update my sig now....

Oh no, sorry to hear things still aren't good with work. Why on earth are you to take 3 weeks holiday after being off sick for months? How bizarre!

Bristol is 3 hrs from here, it is far easier and quicker to travel up/down country than across.

Been to doctors, I have been classified as a nutjob and put on pills!! No, she said it is classic symptoms of pnd and I am under orders to stop trying to be superwoman and accept/ask for help.

Got a surprise txt from my friend, asking to pop round, I am havng panic attacks (as usual) about the house being too messy to accept visitors, but am trying to relax and am breathing deeply. I can't get up and tidy either, because I am trying to spend more time holding my daughter to bond with her........

    xx

Glad the doctor was helpful, and I agree with others that having a tiny baby is the perfect excuse for having a messy home. I'm sure no-one would even notice!

Aless- we don't have a transit bag either. Would you not be wiling to risk it in the hold without?

csh - I've been waiting for you to come back! Thank You for all the places to visit recommendations!
We had a fabulous time in Edinburgh, esp at the East Links farm - We had to literally drag Chris out of there :rotfl:

What do the homestart volunteers do exactly? Come and make you a cup of tea and sit and chat for a bit, or come round make you a cup of tea and vacuum?
my friend has one and she watches the kids while she does house work stuff, takes her to local places like the park/softplay and watches one of her 2 crazy kids while she has the other one :)

Thanks all for comments and advice :)

    To clarify a bit - I'm
    * not expecting doctor involvement to be transformative, if anything I'm worrying about how to get OH to the appointments as she is scared of hospitals, hates appointments with Elijah in tow, and generally if I can't get free to take her she will tend to just not turn up to them. It would still be a bit more peace of mind for me at least though if she does get more regular scans and check-ups!

    * don't think there's anything wrong because she's needing to sleep a lot, just that it is going to be a challenge for her given that during the week she has no opportunity to, so if she needs to that will be very hard on her!

Things I would suggets which might help if she is finding hard to do things are:
    - get a cleaner
    - order your shopping online
    - use the slowcooker for meals
    - use a laundrette

When I was pregnant OH was doing all the cooking/cleaning/shopping/washing for me including hanging the washing out on the line every morning before going to work and it was just silly as he ended up really worn out too as he was doing his job and my job and lots of extra things to look after me (like coming home at lunch time to give me lunch, helping me get dressed and washing my hair for me). If she's really tired it's definitely worth trying to lighten the load so that you don't both end up exhausted.

I hope some of that is helpful and that it doesn't sound too doom and gloom.

Not doom and gloom at all :) however I do bear in mind that as things stand I do 60% of the cleaning (not that much cleaning is done in total  :() and 80-90% of the cooking already :o and unfortunately given our location launderette would definitely be more hassle than doing laundry at home :p
So definitely part of my concern is how much more can I do without getting overwhelmed on my side/jeopardising job stuff/etc.

would you consider putting E in a nursery ---even 1 day so your OH could get some rest?

Thanks Jillie - unfortunately OH's dad is 5000 miles away, and my mum is suffering from some mobility problems meaning she can't take E out even if OH wanted her to, plus even visiting for her is cab+tube+train+cab each way.
We've talked about nursery and still were intending it in a year, but neither of us want it really at this age - we are signed up for a playgroup/nursery thing (where parents stay around a lot of the time) for one morning a week from Sep - better than nothing but not going to really change things!

I think we might end up looking more at some home help/CM/nursery as a temporary measure in a few weeks if things keep getting harder for her.

Anyway, I feel bad moaning about what is fundamentally pretty minor and with nothing serious having gone wrong as yet, when others of you are getting up 6 times a night, having chicken pox or dealing with the deaths of loved ones, etc!

Apparently through a work scheme I get, among other things, 'approximately' 2% cashback on eBay purchases. Should I be excited? Is there some devious way to exploit this, does anyone reckon?

CSH - welcome back, glad you had a good time.

Ladybird - so sorry to hear about your grandad :(

EA - LOL it sounds like a lot of people have seen your pants :p The midwife said that a HV would much rather see an untidy house with a played with baby than an imaculate house with a baby that gets hardly any attention.

Hugs for Hammy and poor little D. As the others have said though it's good that it's not the milk.

Bruno - sounds like your OH is having a rough time. How far along as she? Hopefully this bit will pass and she'll be better as the pregnancy progresses. The worst bit for me was around 20 - 25 weeks and then it the last 6 wks I positively bloomed and loved it lol
I agree with Tia, I found it so hard being pregnant with no children, dread to think what it will be like next time round!!

Tia - hope Amber is doing ok now

Redstar - that sounds like a nightmare....and I was feeling sorry for myself coz I was up from 4.45 lol Hopefully it's just the hot weather and they'll be better this week while it's a bit cooler. (that's what I'm counting on anyway)

Mel - glad it went well at the drs - she gave you some good advice! I'm sure your friend couldnt care less about your house, she just wants to see you :)

I found a diddy little boots pharmacy only a 15 min walk from my house! Spent £7 on uber cheap baby food lol....really looking forward to weaning T now...in 2months time :o

    Hola  Home from holidays!

It was good although a bit too hot (35-39!), a bit too long (14 days usually 10) and a bit too expensive!(spent 1k and we were AI!)

Pleased to hear you had a good time. Photo's are great :)
Morning all. Update from my mum this morning - my Grandad died last night :(

Sorry to hear that. Thinking of you all xx

When the gas man came once i had my pants on the radiator drying, and he had to move them to check it :o

Could be worse. When Josh was little, he used to go for a poo, then just yell at the top of his voice "I neeeeeeed me bum wiped". I was at my parents and my Dad had gone to the toilet and gas man came, so I let the man in to read meter. All of a sudden my Dad yelled at the top of his voice "I neeeeeeed me bum wiped" and the gas man was like !!!!!!? :o:rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....
