Hello all Hugs to all who need them, sorry to hear bad news.
Hammy - we had chicken pox here 6 weeks ago and got a pretty bad dose (spots in eyes, ears, foof etc) and although she's a bit older than David it wasn't too bad - she didn't scratch much and was miserable for a few days. Sadly the spots stayed for longer so she was still contagious and that was the worst bit - not being able to go out (for her and me!) For the spots we put vaseline on top of calomine lotion to stop them being picked off. Now she's still got a few scars left we're using Vitamin E body butter every night (good for scars) and where she has some deep ones on her face we're using Vit E oil - but this has to be applied v carefully! (I would check this out though perhaps with a doc if he has had bad eczema) Hope it gets better soon. The scars are slowly fading.
My daughter is a complete mystery to me. After walking on her knees for 3 months she's finally decided that her feet are better for walking on. Hoorah. She doesn't say much at all (although she babbles all the time) and when we were watching the grand prix yesterday she pointed at it and said clear as day'racing cars' Would not say it again though!
Som - sorry I've not been in touch had an emergency trip to Scotland to visit ill people. You got any free time in next few weeks for an outing?0 -
What do the homestart volunteers do exactly? Come and make you a cup of tea and sit and chat for a bit, or come round make you a cup of tea and vacuum?A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Ta all (again!)
Now seeing as you all know everything, where did I put the sat nav when I tidied up the [strike]compost heap of junk[/stike] hotspot table over the weekend? I need to go get my Mum from my uncles houses later and I don't think I've been there for 20 years. I shall be really stuck if I can't find it!!Petite Star Zia peoples...does anyone have/use the transit bag?? I've just tried mine out for the first time and it's really difficult to get the bag zipped. Is there some sort of trick? What on earth am I suppose to do with the wheels since I have to take them off to get it inside? Seems far too much effort.
I am a petit star zia people, but we don't have the transit bag. Tbh I don't think I'd bother using it if we did - I'm far to lazy to be farting about putting a buggy in a bag.
Hugs for Bruno and Mrs Bruno. I don't have anything useful to add on top of what everyone else has said. I can't imagine being pregnant and having to run around after Izzy. Not being pregnant and running around after her is hard enough!
I'm taking on board the suggestions and storing them away too in the back of my brain, as realistically I'm likely to get SPD again, and be stuggling (I like to be optimistic, and would much rather be saying "but of course my next pregnancy will be a breeze" but better to be prepared)... am resolved to tell DH that while we are TTC we will be putting money asside to pay for a cleaner. And he is to read the washing machine manual :rotfl:. (to be fair he can do that bit... it is the actual putting clothes into the washing basket/machine in the first place that he has the blind spot for!)Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

If it helps Ladybird, I had SPD with Aimee, not quite as bad as to need crutches but my pelvis was agony the whole way through... I didn't get any with Caitlyn... She was all in my back
FWIW, I'm knackered most of the time now... I can't face food... Cooking/eating/thinking about which is difficult when you have to feed 2 children... The house is going to rack and ruin around me because I keep going to bed at 8pm... As well as having a daytime nap...
It's not forever...

Bristol is 3 hrs from here, it is far easier and quicker to travel up/down country than across.
Been to doctors, I have been classified as a nutjob and put on pills!! No, she said it is classic symptoms of pnd and I am under orders to stop trying to be superwoman and accept/ask for help.
Got a surprise txt from my friend, asking to pop round, I am havng panic attacks (as usual) about the house being too messy to accept visitors, but am trying to relax and am breathing deeply. I can't get up and tidy either, because I am trying to spend more time holding my daughter to bond with her........
xxUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Mel - your friend will still love you even if she has to navigate her way around all the toys in detritus. and if she offers to help then say "actually if it ok do you mind emptying the kitchen bin/[insert other job that is hard to do whilst cuddling a baby and contrlling a tot!]"

Can they do that? Or are you at the end of your holiday year with holiday to take or something?
When are you in Dundee again?
I've missed 3 weeks holidays I've had booked as I've been put through as sick. I've 5 weeks to take before the end of November. I don't mind taking teh 3 weeks off but I'd prefer her to tell me there is someone else there as far as she knows I don't know about it!0 -
Excuse for having a messy house? Ours is tidier since we had a baby, because now we have to actually tidy occasionally. It is still a mess, as neither of us are tidy people, it doesn't come naturally at all, but it is FAR less disgusting in here than it used to be.
This sat nav is nowhere to be found. I have had to go back to old fasioned methods - I have looked up the directions on google maps, and written them on a bit of paper. We only got a sat nav about 6 months ago, it is strange how quickly you come to rely on them!
Anyway, I'm off to the post office, then to fetch my Mum. I expect I will be back later. byeeeeeIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009
