We didn't because it wouldn't have affected what we did and I didn't want the hassle of an extra scan for no reason (time off work, waiting around etc) as it would have been the week after our dating scan.
Nosy Q but (a) are your 10 year old twins identical and (b) are the 'new ' twins identical, or can they not tell at this stage? Ignore if you don't want to share, I'm just fascinated by the biology of twins!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

The usual blood test will not give accurate results for twins, so if you want a screen for Downs, then yes to the nuchal fold scan.
Although, my friends sister was given a very high risk of her baby having Downs and considered termination after speaking to her doctor who was 'convinced we were looking at a Downs baby' based on that scan. Baby was born without Downs or any other problem. So like any screening test, discuss how you would both feel about a possible 'bad' result. There is also the possibility that 1 baby may have a bad result and the other is fine.
Identical twins or non identical? Do they share a placenta (it affects what blood tests they will offer).0 -

CAFC, free on the NHS. Far easier for the guys to get it done too. As well as seemingly easier to get a referral from your GP too.
:j
Excellent...
Although I'm not looking forward to his "healing period"...
Not because I wont get any LOL but because he'll moan about what he's gone through (little violin plays sad tune)...
But I'll always have the trump card of birth trauma MUAHAHAHAHA:rotfl:Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

:oIs it wrong that I laughed when a colleague told me his girlfriend can't believe how easy pregnancy is...she's 20 weeks!
I am totally loving the dress in photo 10 of the Nuby UK baby of the month competition.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Wow MOTM and your super swimmers - brilliant news! :T:T
(Did they change your dates at all?)
Nuchal scan - Personally, I wouldn't, although our health authority don't offer it any more. They did when I had J & L but not V.
I decided against it with J because, like Tia, my friend was given a high risk, but decided against the amnio, then spent the rest of her pregnancy worried sick, then gave birth to a perfectly healthy boy.
CAFC Don't you know the snip is a billions times worse than childbirth and he'll go on about it for the rest of his life. :rotfl::beer:0 -
Wow MOTM, congratulations!! :T:T
CAFC that's a biiiig scary decision i don't think i could have made it, i'm indecisive about everything lol. I soooooooo want another baby, but probably only because i know i can't have one.
And excuse me while i ....
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Amber is driving me round the bend. Cry cry whinge whinge cry cry. OMG *pulls hair out*. I am suffocating.
She cries when i put her down. She cries when i leave the room. She cries when i lok in the other direction. She cries when i offer her milk. She cries when i cuddle her. And then sometimes, DS picks her up and she's quiet?!?!
I know her teeth are probably really hurting her but it doesn't stop me feeling like poking my eyeballs out. She's had calpol and teething powders and no change??
Also... She has a rash all over her back.... i am not worried right now but i am keeping a close eye - she was sweaty in her car seat today so i think it's from that. I know it could be related to her crying... Would her teething cause this?
Ugh, waffleness.. sorry.0
