Congratulations MOTM and Lucy, how wonderful for you both:)
I would have loved twins for pregnancy 1, or 2....... Thankfully there aren't really any twins in either of our families, so if we do decide to go for 'one more' it will be just that:D

How amazing that the MW could tell (or had a fair idea) so early on:eek:! Massive congratulations and how wonderful. Imagine if it's two boys!!!!
In far less interesting news work was . I feel like I am over dominating the manager who I am supposedly assistant manager to, but I'm just doing what I was brought in to do, so ho hum, I guess. I want to prove I am back at work because it is what I want to do, not just because I've just had a baby and need a job. I hope that I am doing that in a good way.
Maz- just seen your IoW pics on FB and your boys are looking so grown up! My friend's hubby owns a bus at the bus museum!
Krystal- mucho jealous of the shoes. We won't be having such things of beauty in this house, just boring old boys shoes.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

Rather you than me with the twins MOTM lol...
Up to you on the nuchal... It's more accurate than the triple test. Our health authority don't do nuchal scans and I'm not having the triple test next week because the result wouldn't change the outcome of the pregnancy...

Will respond to you all later.....must feed everyone.
We didn't because it wouldn't have affected what we did and I didn't want the hassle of an extra scan for no reason (time off work, waiting around etc) as it would have been the week after our dating scan.
Nosy Q but (a) are your 10 year old twins identical and (b) are the 'new ' twins identical, or can they not tell at this stage? Ignore if you don't want to share, I'm just fascinated by the biology of twins!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

The usual blood test will not give accurate results for twins, so if you want a screen for Downs, then yes to the nuchal fold scan.
Although, my friends sister was given a very high risk of her baby having Downs and considered termination after speaking to her doctor who was 'convinced we were looking at a Downs baby' based on that scan. Baby was born without Downs or any other problem. So like any screening test, discuss how you would both feel about a possible 'bad' result. There is also the possibility that 1 baby may have a bad result and the other is fine.
Identical twins or non identical? Do they share a placenta (it affects what blood tests they will offer).0 -

CAFC, free on the NHS. Far easier for the guys to get it done too. As well as seemingly easier to get a referral from your GP too.

Excellent...
Although I'm not looking forward to his "healing period"...
Not because I wont get any LOL but because he'll moan about what he's gone through (little violin plays sad tune)...
But I'll always have the trump card of birth trauma MUAHAHAHAHA:rotfl:Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
You need to think through what you would do and what would be the consequences of any results. The nuchal scan only gives a probability - if you had raised odds, they would offer you an amniocentesis which would tell you for certain but I believe has a 1% risk of miscarriage.ManOnTheMoon wrote: »Oh, very quickly, we've been offered a Nuchal scan.......yay or nay?Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5
