OK, thanks Beenie, what are distance selling regulations and why might I need them?
Also if they're registered as a business then they have to comply with the sale of goods act i.e refund you if it's faulty.
I think anyway, it's just what i gathered from reading the boards hehe0 -

Up to you on the nuchal... It's more accurate than the triple test. Our health authority don't do nuchal scans and I'm not having the triple test next week because the result wouldn't change the outcome of the pregnancy...
Big decision to make. Never did with the other girls.got-it-spend-it wrote: »We didn't because it wouldn't have affected what we did and I didn't want the hassle of an extra scan for no reason (time off work, waiting around etc) as it would have been the week after our dating scan.
Nosy Q but (a) are your 10 year old twins identical and (b) are the 'new ' twins identical, or can they not tell at this stage? Ignore if you don't want to share, I'm just fascinated by the biology of twins!
I wouldn't imagine it would change our decision to go ahead.
It's 2 sacs, so fraternal. My 10yo's were fraternal BUT they look very similar for fraternal twins.0 -
fraternal.. is that non-identical as there are 2 sacs?'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0

Can someone help me, i'm being a complete noob (for a change
)
DS has some tops in 28" size which fit. I'm looking at this listing which lists a 28" as being for age 5-6??! They say it's baggy though. Feels a bit wrong to be getting him age 5-6. I'd normally get the 7-8 but confused now. Someone tell me what to order please
Would hate the waste £2-odd on the wrong size :rotfl:0 -
The usual blood test will not give accurate results for twins, so if you want a screen for Downs, then yes to the nuchal fold scan.
Although, my friends sister was given a very high risk of her baby having Downs and considered termination after speaking to her doctor who was 'convinced we were looking at a Downs baby' based on that scan. Baby was born without Downs or any other problem. So like any screening test, discuss how you would both feel about a possible 'bad' result. There is also the possibility that 1 baby may have a bad result and the other is fine.
Identical twins or non identical? Do they share a placenta (it affects what blood tests they will offer).
Going to have to chat to Lucy as it sounds like a personal choice. Non identical. What else will we be offered? And also... scan pics!!!!
If I can get Lucy to let me (yes, I'm owned in some ways) she may let me PM them, but she's already said nobody else can see them outside of the house. She's very possessive? Obsessive? Not sure how to describe, but she's worse than me at giving info to others. You need to think through what you would do and what would be the consequences of any results. The nuchal scan only gives a probability - if you had raised odds, they would offer you an amniocentesis which would tell you for certain but I believe has a 1% risk of miscarriage.
Okay, thanks for the info. I'll discuss with Lucy tomorrow.0 -

MOTM and Lucy, double congratulations!! I didn't want twins as I wanted to go through pregnancy twice lol!
We weren't offered nuchal scan but wouldn't have had it and didn't have the triple test as it would have made no difference what the results were.
Sugar, if you're about, how much sugar for your chutney?! Didn't get chance today as helping my dad and baking but planning on doing some tomorrow.0 -
Wow MOTM and your super swimmers - brilliant news! :T:T
(Did they change your dates at all?)
Nuchal scan - Personally, I wouldn't, although our health authority don't offer it any more. They did when I had J & L but not V.
I decided against it with J because, like Tia, my friend was given a high risk, but decided against the amnio, then spent the rest of her pregnancy worried sick, then gave birth to a perfectly healthy boy.
:rotfl: @ super swimmers.
I can see for and against. I can't make the decision. Something my little Welsh mind and I need to discuss.
They were happy with the dates. They thought about changing by 2 days (?) As Lucy got confused about cycle dates, but once she got her head straight, had scan and the rest, they were satisfied with 31st March, although they informed twins usually come early, but I know that having a pair already that arrived 2.5 weeks early.jillie1974 wrote: » twins

congrats to you and Lucy, how have the girls taken it?
Girls very excited. Was awaiting the response of the twins to new twins and they were happy that in a few months they will be big twins as opposed to little twins. MOTM - how's Lucy?
Congratulations........................
Twice daily?! EEP!! :rotfl:
She's good thanks. Tiring day for her and sleeping next to me.0 -
I would agree with Lucy wholeheartedly there MOTM lol....and at least she's going to have you there to support and help so she won't be coping with twins alone while you're working. It's very exciting
I'll be stuck to her like glue and she will be to me likewise.jillie1974 wrote: »fraternal.. is that non-identical as there are 2 sacs?MOTM and Lucy CongratulationsI am a twin and i love it . I am so happy for you both . I would say yay to the nuchal scan
Older or younger twin? My eldest loves being older, my youngest loves being younger. Win-win.0 -
SJ I think the original recipe asked for 400g but because I added dried fruit I cut it down and just dumped in a bit less than a cup.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
