MOTM, adoption? You wanting more kids, or less? hehe

Neither, more to do with Lucy and my girls.
I'll get slated for this but what the hey ho -

That doesn't sound like a very healthy reletionship Motm! Clingy is nice in small doses, but you don't want someone timing you as you go to shop for a paper. I also cannot see a huge deal about sharing a "scan" picture, but then what do I know, I'm an idiot.

Not that clingy. Maybe clingy is the wrong word, but I can't think
Of another this time of night.

Got two questions for anyone who wants to answer, but I'll save them for tomorrow as it has been a big day already, but anyone with experience in adoption and/or romantic gestures/marriage may be able to help.

I have no experience , but do you mean Lucy adopting your girls ? And you and Lucy getting married?

    Yes and not yet.

Just whether it's a good idea for her to adopt, or if we should just carry on as we are. What's not broken...but also if their are any advantages just incase anything happens to me.

Plus, I'm intending on making an honest woman of my little Welsh minx (I call her that to her face, don't worry). Girls mothers I never did, but this feels right. Would like female point of view as wad thinking of Thursday or Friday when girls are at school and I can explain to older two I need them to disappear.

    My concerns are around timing.

I don't think its actually adoption when its step children, I think its about gaining parental responsibility but I may have read it wrongly http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Adoptionfosteringandchildrenincare/AdoptionAndFostering/DG_10021340
It looks like its more off a faff when there is an absent parent that isn't available to give their permission

Oooh did you?! Was it just a preview or the whole thing? I was thinking the other day, i'm surprised they didn't go see him on his birthday

I can't sleep, grrr. :( Just in bed on my phone browsing, and listening to Amber breathing, not that i'm paranoid about the rash or anything :o:p

MOTM - All I would say about marriage is if it feels right then do it:D

I'm not sure about the romantic aspects of proposing, my dh proposed to me in the skankiest, most rancid nightclub ever, that we only happened to be in because we were dragged there by his cousin for her birthday!! I do sometimes wish it had been a bit more romantic, you know, a nice lunch and a pretty walk something like that....but hey, given we've been together nearly 16yrs and married nearly 8yrs it obviously hasn't bothered me that much;)

Dh chose my engagement ring, after he had asked me because he wanted to know which type I would prefer (solitaire, cluster, white gold, coloured stone etc) he said seeing as though I would be wearing it for the rest of my life he didn't want to get me something I didn't like:)D

Not sure about the timing of it, are you thinking it might seem as though you are only asking because of the pregnancy? Do you think Lucy would think this, or would be happy either way, you know her so I would go on your own judgement about whether to do it now or wait until after the babes are born......I am glad you have met someone so special to you:)

    xx

Thanks. Will take a peek at that later. If we have to get permission from absent mothers, the whole idea can be forgotten. The main aim is if I pass, Lucy gets responsibility of the girls, as you correctly put it. Apologies for the morbidity so early in the morning.

If we get married, i'm hoping that will help the cause and increase security for her (although the main reason is romance!)

The word I was looking for last night was affectionate/tactile....clingy was totally off track, and if she wants everything pink/yellow/green or wants the furniture moved around, she can have it. I'm incredibly easy about most things.

Catch you all later, i'm up early to get in the pattern, ready for school tomorrow. Going to walk with 17yo to her work so I can get some flowers.

Have a nice morning/day all and.....those of school age, when do they all return?
