 I told my mother about our plans for Christmas here and not with them. She countered by telling me I owe my brother £4k and he needs it asap

He doesn't need it, he has a ton of cash sitting in the bank even though he doesn't work, pay rent or have a social life to pay for. But apparently I promised it arbitrarily when he was in his final year of university and although he dropped out he wants it now. I'm tempted to tell him to go back and he can have it then but I will figure out how to sort it with maternity pay and paying for my counselling diploma and so on

The old emotional blackmail huh? It's why I stay away from family other than my very own that i've helped develop. Pain in the backside.

With all the stories about those getting together, most of you will remember myself meeting Lucy. I won't go into how I met the girls mothers (nothing seedy). Less said about them the better, although between them they gave me 7 wonderful daughters, albeit they had no part in helping them be wonderful, that's all my success :D Well, some of it ;)

EA I used to have a carpy oven too. I was lucky my nan bought it for me when I moved into my flat after I left KH and had nothing to my name. It broke all the time, and you couldn't burn anything in the oven, it had 2 settings: almost warm and airing cupboard. It broke again three days before my extended warranty ran out, I made a total pest of myself and comet wrote it off :D

I've been told I'm not allowed to get pregnant in the next three months because I had an MMR booster after squeak was born. Not that I was going to anyway :rotfl:

But now I look at her all small and lovely and think awwwww soon you're going to be big and I'm going to miss you being small and Daddy and me will probably have words :o I think he wants to get the snip, which would be very sensible indeed. He asked me after Christmas if he should go ahead and gt it done or did I want to have another baby, which left me stunned, he'd always said we had enough between us!

Found out a couple of weeks later I was pregnant when we had that conversation :o
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o:o

With Yorkshire oudding make sure the oil is VERY hot before pouring the batter mix in:)

Meeting OH's....Dh was the older brother of my older brother's friend, he then started playing golf with my dh on the local park. One day he spotted me walking across the park (off to the wino-park;)) and started saying to my older brother how he thought I was fit/good looking etc, got a mighty shock when it was disclosed that I was his little sister and was 15yrs old!! From that point onwards he came around to our house a lot, working out in the garage with my brother. I actually started hanging about with him a few months later, after I had to run to his dad's flat for protection from the fair scallies!!! Anyway within 6mths we were going out with each other, another month on living together, and one further month on and we were engaged......I was 15 when we got together and nearly 16yrs on we are still going strong (mostly;))

Lily was just making choking and coughing noises, she had a sweet wrapper in her mouth! _pale_

We have to be so careful now, she is so much more active.

Currently she is getting into crawling position and thrusting the sofa..

I think 3 probably has that many on FB posting Bastage Camp links :rotfl:

Edit: sadly SJ I borrowed it, had completely forgotten TBH because it was about six years ago and I needed it for tuition fees. But asking for it now when I'm about to go back onto maternity pay AND we're looking at buying a house is sheer bloody-mindedness.

    Chutney:

    750gish plums
    200g prunes
    200g dates
    200g cranberries
    1 onion
    1 orange
    sugar
600mlish vinegar, I used half white wine and half cider
    ginger
    ground cloves
    cinnamon
    allspice
    salt

Chop all the fruit except the orange and the onion and drop them in a big pan. Stir them around and zest the orange over the top. Slice the naked orange in half and squeeze out all the juice over the top, then drop in whatever pulp looks like it's escaping. Dump the sugar and spices over the top and stir it all up. Pour the vinegar over it (I poured it over the zester to get all the loose bits off), stir it some more and add a teaspoon or so of salt. Stir it again and bring it to the boil, then turn down the heat a bit and leave it to bubble happily for an hour or till it's at the sort of consistency you want. Ladle it into sterilised jars and marvel at your domesticity.
    :rotfl:

Thanks very much :A I have everything on the list so will make some tomorrow! And I had to read that about 4 times to decide what to do with the onion :rotfl:

I met DH through a mutual friend and we were both with other people not long after we met. We were really good friends (JUST friends!) for about 3 years then both were single at the same time, he decided to move to Leeds and we got together the weekend he moved up :D

:rotfl: Mel under German law you have 14 months of mat leave to use in the first three years of your child's life. I've only taken 4.5 months and the day before my contract ends I am going back into mat leave so I can stay home and still receive 2/3 of my pay :money:

Operation Jam-Making has been an astonishing success. I was worried because it didn't look thickened at all, but it's thickened fine, spreads really well and is super tasty.
