We used to have to wash S's moses basket sheet every night, and when we were all sharing (shudder) we had to lie him on a double thickness towel to avoid having to wash our sheet every night! During the day if we werent holding him upright we just laid him on his changing mat under the gym, but then he'd puke and it would go under his head and be just gross. I really really hope the next baby doesnt have reflux, I hope we've had our fill of refluxy babies :(
I'm fairly sure none of my brothers were sicky babies as it's only me that my mum talked about being like that and I'm sure she would have mentioned if we'd all been.

Caitlyn used to eat mashed potato by squeezing it in her hand and eating the bit that squidged out of the top of her fist lol...

The girls were lovely today, there was a barbecue at church so we took a walk down there... Caitlyn ate nearly a whole burger and a pile of beans followed by half a choc ice and some jelly... Aimee took 3 bites out of a burger and disapeared onto the bouncy castle lol...

Caitlyn fell asleep on the way back though and I would have just shoved her into bed in her clothes but Hubby was insistent she should go into pyjamas lest she strangle herself on the dungaree straps  anyway, she tried really hard to go back to sleep in my arms before he started messing with her, and then took nearly an hour to settle back to sleep once he'd put her to bed...

    He'll learn...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Unless you think she desperately needs the food, I wouldn't be worried about whether she actually eats it at this stage. We started Alice at seven months and it was only after three months that she started consuming more than the odd crumb which went down accidentally. (Although I think she was at the extreme end of the spectrum - some babies start actually eating food much almost straight away.)

That must be hard. Is there any pattern to it that you can discern? Apparently I was a very sicky baby - my mum used to lie me on a blanket and wash it every night because it would get so disgusting.

She's having her milk and she still has purees, so im not to worried.
I think its more just getting her used to it at this stage rather than it being her main food.

No pattern for the being sick, its random. Last month she was sick after every bottle, then it just stopped and now she'll be sick a small bit after a bottle and sometimes it will be a load.
Taking her to be weighed next week as it was closed today, the HV wants to make sure she's not dropping more centiles.

    She seems healthy enough :)

    Hmmm, thats a nice thought.
My dad said I was a sicky baby, which was why some of the gifts he got me when S was born were a pack of 20 muslins and a special plastic backed baby puke towel! But I dont think he really actually had that much to do with me as a baby, I reckon he picked me up once and I barfed on him and its etched into his memory. Cos my nan had me from 6 weeks til I was around school age anyway cos my mum had PND. She was so bad they made a documentary on it cos they'd never seen such a bad case. She actually forgot I was ever born at one point!

That's quite impressive that he thought of getting such a practical gift.

And  at your mum (and :( because it sounds like it had a really big effect long term). My friend's mum had PND and thought that my friend wasn't really her baby but in the sense that she thought she must've been swapped in hospital or something - she did know she was meant to have a baby.

Has nobody told you we're all builders called Dave?

I thought that was just me. Although technically speaking, I only helped out a builder friend for a week, so can't put that on my extensive list of jobs. Nice to know you are all Dave's and Frank's :-)
I'm off for an early night but just wanted to send my best wishes to MOTM and Lucy for tomorrow. I'm at a meeting all day but will check in tomorrow night.

SS/SJ- I have just ordered all my chutney ingredients to come tomorrow (while I am at work- OH will think I have gone mad when the order arrives) as well as a couple of jars of Smart Price cabbage and beetroot;). I'm also going to have a trawl through the fridge and cupboards to see if any jars of things can be finished off over the next few days.

Thanks. Don't know how different it will be to 10 years back, but I'd rather this than your meeting. Good luck!

When I was 6 months old the neighbours called my dad at work and said they thought he should go home as I'd been crying for hours and hours and they thought something might be wrong. This was around lunchtime, he got home to find me in the cot still, not been moved, still in all my night time stuff and nappy and everything. She'd gone shopping and left me there! She swore blind she just didnt remember I existed! That was when my dad said enough was enough and took me to my nans.
It probably did have an effect long term, I'm pretty sure if things had been different back then things would be different now. But as selfish as it may be, each time I went back to try and build bridges and she went crazy on me again, I just kept thinking "I dont need this, I managed perfectly well bringing myself up, why should I stick around for this now?" I think I've done quite well in all honesty, I'm nowhere near as messed up as some that have had "normal" upbringings! I am just very lucky my nan and grandad were there for me and willing to take me in.

Thank you MFD. I'm on my phone so shall be brief. I think all my friends are now barred from her page, and non friends are only getting her basic info psge, but my dog isn't my friend and can still see her groups, so any to do with autism are getting a link!

I hope you all have a lovely relaxing holiday, and I hope you come back to me telling you it's all sorted out!

Btw; the lady who vented on the vent board could do with a bump.
