Also got the email within 48 hours message; so hopefully by your logic VWMan I'll get this outrageously good sounding card.
Or it could be the other way and it'll be VWMan laughing all the way to a 3.9% LoB Transfer!
Hiya C-Red
No my logic is, If they were going to give the card why the hell dont they say so in the e-mail instead of 'let you know by post' crap, it appeares from OP that applications by phone are informed yes or sadly in his/her case no stright away.Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0 -

So it's all steam ahead by the looks of things.
Was looking to use the card like a 0% loan to buy a new mountain bike- am I right in thinking as long as I meet at least the monthly repayments every month, no interest would be payable?
BTW, this 0% on puchases thing- does it act like a 0% loan if I wanted to buy a si0 -

actually, every store has their own target to sell you debt!!! But you wont get decision instantly, they fill in the application for you and send thu internal mail, you might get decicion in a week's time......Spend smart, and save more.0 -
Thanks - applied for the 'old style' M&S card just before midnight and got my "Welcome to the exciting world of the &MORE Credit Card" email just after 8AM this morning...

does anyone know whether having FirstDirect CC rules me out of being accepted for the M&S card? Both are operated by HSBC.
Thank you in advanceI also have HSBC card. It seems to have had no affect on my application.
I would think that they would check their records before sending out the email I put on site a little while ago

I had a card which I cancelled in January - and applied for this account - got declined - turns out my old account is still open!!!! GRrrrrr
No I don't get any offers with this except a 6 months balance transfer deal..
They say I can close this account now and try again to apply but can't guarantee me getting accepted and they would have to do another credit search.
Guess I'm stuck now0 -
I phoned them to ask if I had been sucessful or not, and was told by CS that my application had been refered to an underwriter, she also stated that this was not unusual and if I had been declined I would have been informed at once.
She further stated it was something to do with deciding credit limits.
So watch this space as they say........Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0 -
Thanks for the heads-up about this new card offer. As it's the lowest-APR life-of-balance offer I know of, I applied straight away despite waiting to get on the electoral roll.
For me, a life-of-balance card is better as I avoid BT fees and don't have to worry about tarting/my credit rating when the offer expires, which--considering my large CC balance--is inevitable.
To my surprise, I was approved instantly by phone and am just waiting for the agreement forms to arrive. Made my day! :money:0 -
Im a student just applied online now and 'will hear in 48 hours'. First card ive ever applied for where when you put down student it doesnt let you input details for an employer.
hmm.... maybe not good. still let me put in gross income which will help!
how soon did you receive your email after appliction advising of 48 hour notice? still aint got mine through yet!0
