    I seem to be able to do the transactions I wish on my account now.
    No sign of any communication from Santander- no letter, phone call, email. No indication that they understand that it is I who pay their salaries by placing my money in their care. "Care"? I don't think so...
    Bye bye Santander....today I had in the mail a "Welcome pack" from my new bank. I shall be filling in the switching forms immediately.....
    Thank you to the (at this point) nearly 800 people who have read this thread- and especially to those who took the time to contribute.

    Do the new sort codes start 09?

    Just being wondering if they are phasing out the A&L 72 and 89 Sort codes.

    DD's account was migrated last week. Loss of access for a couple of days but all seemed back to normal. Last night she tried to pay me some money, I am set up as one of her payees, to my unmigrated A&L account and it would not allow it. She is going to try again today and we will see what happens. :mad:

    I have been able to transfer money out of account today but did not go faster payment, apparently from speaking to telephone banking due to system upgrade all payee already set up online will classed as 'new' and will go bacs from next payment and then faster payment subsequent payments up to £250.

    Today I had a "Welcome to Santander" message in my bank account messages folder. It concludes:

    "Santander's strength and stability is built on the relationship we have with our customers, and we hope that you will enjoy the benefits that this relationship will bring."

    Yeah...right....

    Didn't see the point of starting a new thread for this..

    Our A&L accounts have been transferred over this weekend and have just come back online.

    ALREADY had to phone them up, got through to their Bradford call centre. One of our AA direct debits had been duplicated, all the payment amounts and dates had been deleted (including on the agent's screen so he was of no use either) so I don't know where I am any more. Also, the card payment I made yesterday hasn't showed up on the available balance (I guess it was an offline transaction due to the upgrade.

    So nothing major all in all, but still a little inconvenient as I now have to leave sufficient money in to cover 2 AA direct debit instalments next week in case there is a balls up and they take for each one, and at the very least wait until one is paid before deleting the other one.

    Where's my Barclays Welcome Pack? :rotfl:

    The best laugh for me, is they transferred all my Direct Debits. Apart from Santander Hire Purchase!


  • I have sent a faster payment from my Alliance and Leicester account and it has still to arrive in the Nationwide account. It was for £250. This has been since the soc alled upgrade.

    This has been mentioned earlier and it seems that the first payment to an account after migration will not go FP, the same as when you first set up a payment.

    My A&L current account has been given an 09 Abbey sort code but the problem I have is when I log into A&L online banking it displays both my savings accounts balances as unavailable. Has been for last couple of weeks now.
