  • Well finally after 4 weeks, I'm back in to my account. No Apology or anything, and no response from complaints, other than I must have forgotten my PIN
Had e-mail informing me today that migration would occur (even though that obviously has already happened)also notquite sure why everyone else went over the weekend 27th July and I was thisweekend.

ANyway, all over, transfer of accounts to new bank underway. Goodbye and good riddance:T

The Citywire website has put together a short but entertaining video poking fun at Santander's reputation.

It is part of the article: The Spanish Acquisition: Can Santander pull it off? And what it means for you

    So fed up with this.

Since migration 2 enduring power of attorney accounts do not work - one of them being current a/c :( so 2 weeks ago I spent an hour on the 'phone being passed from person to person, none of whom could help, although the last one said he'd fill 2 forms in. Advised to ring back in a week if not fixed.

Not fixed so a week ago I rang back, got through to someone who said my name was written in different ways on different a/c's that was the problem, said she'd fill in 2 more forms and it would be fixed in 48 hours.

Yesterday still not fixed and it was 4 working days later so I rang them again and the woman wouldn't even take my details, said it would definitely be fixed today, that all the fixes were going live today.

This morning I have logged on and - guess what - still no access to those 2 a/c's. GRRRRRR
  • Ugh. Just found this thread. I've been on holiday and returned to find out that many of my direct debits haven't been called for (despite them not being cancelled) and I've come back to letters from Santander Cards (!) amongst others kindly applying a £25 "missed payment" fee.

I suspect I may get some of these refunded but I'm not sure how much my credit rating has been damaged in the last fortnight. Idiots.

    Same as many.
Unavailable account, manage to get the new account number and sort code from the branch. That is taking 4 weeks now?
I was lucky is an ISA account and the rest transferred correctly.

BY the way, does anybody have an array of Direct Debits of Alliance&Leicester? What is that for?

I think some accounts are showing as "unavailiable" for people online, as people's details have been moving across from the A&L Legacy system to the new Santander Partenon computer system.

For some people, because this is an automated process, it is creating 2 or sometimes even 3 seperate customer profiles, where there are slight differences in address etc.

Because of this, some accounts are listed under one profile and some accounts under another. This causes problems with online banking as it links to one of these profiles. For each case like this the profiles need to be merged - and there are probably tens of thousands of them,

Well, but why did they not merge the profiles before the migration?
    When is going to take?
They have not instructed the branches how to find out our new account number and sort codes and help us, no info what is going on, etc.

If that's what I think it is, it's the mechanism for transferring money between savings/current accounts. Nothing to worry about

I must be in a minority -still no problems of any kind
  • I've just logged on after being locked out for ages. My Flexible ISA has been turned into a Direct ISA (with a rubbish interest rate), and my address details have changed to a previous address. When I try to change the address back, it says my password is locked. This sucks.

Me too, joint current account interest has been taxed correctly as well although not laid out in the old way with net and gross listed seperately, just taxed at 10%. There have been a few minor quirks but anyone who expects a migration to be completely error free is living in a different world to this real one ;)
