My better half is like this at the moment, our little boy goes off to Nursary tomorrow which is the first time he will have been away from her. I suspect tears in the morning and not just from my little boy..looks like i am going into work late in the morning.0

Well I picked my lauren up from school at 315 and she was like a spring lamb. She grabbed her dads hand and my hand and skipped all the way to the car singing something about little chinamen LOL.
We asked her did she have a good time and she said yes, she met lots of friends and fell over and hurt her knee, but it didnt matter because the teacher gave her a chocolate!
She ws even more thrilled that she had sausages for her dinner (we don't eat them, and I keep trying to tell her its lunch not dinner!) and then she got cake and custard
Tonight she wouldnt sleep shes that happy.
All that worrying I did for nothing!
I'm so glad she enjoyed herself and it turned out ok for you.. Dont be alarmed if in a week or so she starts missing her old nursery and routine. This is quite normal. At least you know now that her new school is a friendly place and will look after her . Best wishes0 -
Well, it's all over!!!:p
She was happily settled in class shortly after 9am. They have staggered the starting days, this is day 1, and there are only 6 in the class for today. But by Friday there will be 21, there are two teachers though so thats good.
The teacher said this week, they will be having lots of fun! Making loads of friends, and generally easing them in.
Ella couldn't wait for me to go. She was happy as Larry (whoever he is).....:rotfl:
All that stress over nothing! But i suppose THIS is what being a parent really means, and i wouldn't change it for the world!!!:A
Thanks for everyone support, and for those who still have the starting day looming, be brave! put on a big smiley face, and it will be fine.:T
Hugs to all

DS3 starts this afternoon. He isnt keen on school (been going to the starter group for half days for the last year and a half!), but he has his uniform ion which is a great sign. As we dropped DS1&2 off, he held tight onto me for fear of me leaving without him!! lol!
Once he is in full time, he will settle fine, I know he is ready, and I will be able to do more work as I work from home. But at about 1.30 this afternoon, the house will be a bit eerie....
I might send him in with some goodies to give out to his class mates because it was his borthday on Tuesday. He's just turned 4. Being invited to a class mates 5th birthday party this weekend brings home how big an age gap that is!
going off topic (sorry)MortgageMamma wrote:How did you cope when A went? As last time I saw A he was on the shy side...admittedly that was 3 YEARS AGO lol*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

He did really well. Didn't cry at all. Neither did he cry when he started the new school. He did look worried. Dropped him off today and he looked worried again but I sat him near a mate of his and he looked a bit happier.
E did cry today as predicted. She looked all happy until she walked into the classroom and her face dropped.mumstheword wrote:DS2 (E) still hasnt forgiven hobo28 for moving A away! He's been grumbling about it this week!0 -

DS2 (E) still hasnt forgiven hobo28 for moving A away! He's been grumbling about it this week!
 god yeah when you put it like that
lol @ him in his uniform already ,my son would have it dirty by lunchtime  :rotfl:
i understand why they settle them in half days the first week ( my son will go mornings from monday then fulltime after that) BUT its confusing for them as its the same as being in nursery really
and in fact my son wil be in the exact same building / rooms that was his nursery last yr as they have had an extension / move about of classes to accomodate more children / classes !0
