Well I'm obviously a nasty evil mum, because my DD starts school on Thursday and I can't wait....:j
She's really excited too and is now counting down to the big day in sleeps (ie tomorrow is 2 more sleeps).
We have tried to instill all the good and fun points into her regarding what goes on at school and she has 2 older brothers (15 & 12) that are also making it exciting for her too.
She is more than ready, never shuts up, is always asking questions and is like my shadow!
.....roll on Thursday *peace and quiet for a few hours*0 -
LOL Dora
Well I picked my lauren up from school at 315 and she was like a spring lamb. She grabbed her dads hand and my hand and skipped all the way to the car singing something about little chinamen LOL.
We asked her did she have a good time and she said yes, she met lots of friends and fell over and hurt her knee, but it didnt matter because the teacher gave her a chocolate!
She ws even more thrilled that she had sausages for her dinner (we don't eat them, and I keep trying to tell her its lunch not dinner!) and then she got cake and custard
Tonight she wouldnt sleep shes that happy.
All that worrying I did for nothing!I am a Mortgage Adviser

Well I tried to carry on working until abotu 1230, but my head was mush, so I went for lunch in a local pub/eatery with the husband:beer: , who incidentally wanted to celebrate getting a new job.:j When we'd finished there we went home and took our dogs out for a 90 minute trek across the fields and had a good old natter, and then it was time to pick DD up from school and the hairdresser was coming so - all in all - despite a bad start a very pleasant day. All I need to happen now is for us to win the lottery so I can retire and stop dreaming about mortgages and blummin houses!
Do you think I'm the obsessive type?:rotfl:I am a Mortgage Adviser

MortgageMamma wrote:This morning daughter was struggling to get her trainers on (she's 4 - 5 in two weeks) and Ihad a panic attack wondering how she'd cope with PE, and she's such a wet blanket, even her 2 year old brother bullies her - she's going to get anialated I know it - its not a rough school or area - its just I see so much of myself in her at that age - I never really was any good at making friends, I hope that doesn't happen to her...
Oh dear I do feel sorry for you. I do know how you feel my DS3 is staring receptition tomorrow and I know I will feel at odds coming back home (not to quite an empty home as DS1 does not go back for a couple of days). Please try to have faith in her and in the school. Most reception teachers are fab, they are so tuned into 4/5 year olds. They will not have her changing into full PE kit on day 1! Lots of schools do PE just in soft shoes the first few times and from helping in school for years a PE lesson in reception is 80% the kids getting undressed/dressed and 20% actual activity!
I beleive we are here to try to guide our children on the right path but they must find their own way and she will. Try not to put your fears/memories on her and be proud of the person she is. Good luckThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I'm in my mid 20s, have travelled the world and no longer live home, yet my mum still frets.
I guess its just natural.
I also guess it will get easier as she gets older and you get used to it.
Just wait until she's a teenager and starts going out partying and you stay awake until she comes home....."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
