If anyone hears anything please let me know. I issued them a cheque which was cashed in November 2010 and have had no success. I have chased and chased them but to no avail. Doesn't look like I will receive my money back but if there is any new please advise me.0

Welcome to the forum.
Contact your local Trading Standards office and just give them details of this thread.
Or contact your local MP
If everyone who has lost money did the same, there would be some serious investigation carried out, even getting the police involved.0 -
I was done by this lot as well earlier this year. My daughter, who has also been done, put me in contact with this lot and at the time it seemed reasonable. We did have our loft insulated by signing up and things at that time seemed to be progressing satisfactorily. Later in the Summer we received the letter stating that we no longer qualified for the free installation of panels and we would get our money refunded. At this point I knew that this was a scam and that the likelihood of getting anything back was zero. I have followed this thread with interest and once I saw that the inevitable had happened (ESG ceased trading) I thought that I would post too. That ESG stated on Watchdog that only 200 customers at that time had not received a refund seemed incredulous to me. I am sure that many more than 200 have been stung by this so called company. I have visited the website of the phoenix company that has risen from the ashes and can only assume that their days a likely now numbered with the withdrawal of 50% of the FIT. I can only hope that there is a god and this lot all burn in hell to all eternity or as a certain celebrity said "they should shot dead in front of their families" to facilitate said burning in hell.

Well as said above - do something about the situation.
Complain to Trading Standards, Watchdog, your MP, the Police with copies of the above information.0 -
Does anyone know the name of the liquidators?
I've had a look online but can't seem to find them, unless I've missed it somewhere?0 -
Thank you - I will contact trading standards tomorrow and keep everyone uptodate if I have any success.0

Good! I hope many others reading this do the same.
People may be interested in this article from the local newspaper, the Redditch Standard, at http://www.redditchstandard.co.uk/2011/12/31/news-Customers-out-of-pocket-as-energy-firm-disappears-26114.html (dated 23/12, updated 30/12)
which includes "A spokeswoman for Worcestershire County Council confirmed 300 enquiries had been received about Energy Saving Group"
and from the new company (Energy Reduction UK):
A statement from Energy Reduction UK said: “We have no connection with Energy Saving UK. Admittedly Energy Reduction UK has taken on some of the staff who previously worked for Energy Saving Group, as they are local and have relevant experience within the industry, but they are no longer associated with Energy Saving Group and work for Energy Reduction UK.”
............. but see my post here which shows a rather close connection with the former company. James Michael Manley is listed as the sole director of both companies. The registered address (of both companies!) also seems to be the address of a firm of accountants called Manleys. Of course there may be "no connection" whatsoever. And there could be two people with the name of 'James Michael Manley'* based at that address (696, Yardley Wood Road), as well as unrelated Manleys in M.T. Manley & Co (also registered at that address), and .....
The statement to the paper is a little different to the 'clarification' post by CSMERUK on this forum - which included the accusation that an earlier post had been slanderous. Of course CSMERUK has not provided any 'clarification' to my post, as I requested. CSMERUK's post has been deleted/removed - but is preserved as a quote in my post!
BTW The new company - Energy Reduction UK - seems to be recruiting SOLAR ENERGY ADVISERS ....all over the place - using directgov - and others. e.g. here (and see ERUK's website here). Trading Standards may be interested in this too.
BTW - again (sorry) - these jobs are PERMANENT (according to ERUK):
We are looking for professional people to join our team of energy advisers. Sales experience in a face to face role or similar is required. Must have good communication skills, have own transport, and a professional manner essential. You will receive regular customer details requesting a free energy survey. This is not a cold calling role. Full discussion at interview. Hours are varied depending...
* "James Michael Stanley" seems to have several directorships - including one for "Heritage Windows Countrywide" ....which also has a certain Steven Dickson as director (he's been mentioned before - and appeared on Watchdog). You can guess the registered address of "Heritage Windows Countrywide"? I wonder what their line of business is?

Anyone interested in using this firm will find this thread by 'Google' and read the above.

I'm not sure if this has been posted but also the link between the two "directors" is evident if you search for Energy Saving Improvements Limited through Company Check website - strangely another active Energy company with them both listed as current directors.
Clicking on the link to "Steve Dickson" also gives contact address which maybe useful to those trying to get letters/court action to him from Energy Saving Group.
Maybe the mentioned local paper should be made aware of this thread as they're clearly being hoodwinked and the local people deserve to know as despite protestations they are obviously in cahoots together with more scams.0 -
