Energy Saving Improvements Ltd (company 06857113) - which traded as Energy Saving Group - is in liquidation. There was a court order of 9 October 2013 to wind up. Steve Dickson - known to BBC's Watchdog, various local radio stations, etc was a director. He is director number 913729236, and was born in 1978. More earlier in this thread!

The phoenix company from ESG - Energy Reduction Surveying Ltd (07024917) is now also in liquidation. Back in April 2013 there was a court order for Steve Dickson and James Manley and Energy Reduction UK (which traded as ERUK) - see http://www.redditchstandard.co.uk/2013/04/10/news-Court-order-for-solar-energy-firm-67811.html

Both ESG and ERUK offered 'free solar' - 'rent-a-roof' schemes.

Interestingly there's a newish company with a similar name J.D.Energy Reduction Ltd (07908430, incorporated 13 January 2012), in the same geographical area - with a first director named James Andrew John Dickson, born in 1952.

LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/) is a site where business and professional people put up their profiles and make connections with others. Companies too can post their profiles.

On LinkedIn you can find a Jim Dickson who is the MD at JD Energy Reduction Ltd. He also writes that he was UK Business Development Manager at Energy Saving Group ....and he's Sales Director at Vigortas. You can find more about him - and Vigortas (which does free solar) - here: http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/jim-dickson/1b/730/a9?trk=pub-pbmap

Vigortas? - that's company 07276132, incorporated 7 June 2010. James Dickson became a director on 18 July 2012. Vigortas is on LinkedIn: http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/vigortas-limited/62/464/965

Interestingly there's also a Ryan Dickson who's ECO Projects Mgr at Vigortas. (ECO - Energy Companies Obligation). Here's Ryan Dickson on LinkedIn: http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/ryan-dickson/80/231/406 He got an A level in Accountancy and Business Management, at Solihull Sixth Form College, in 2008.

On LinkedIn Steven Dickson gives his profession as Managing Director. Here's his profile: http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/steven-dickson/64/a59/794?trk=pub-pbmap

Of course all these people with the surname Dickson may have no family connection with each other ...Companies House, LinkedIn, etc are not part of Ancestry UK!

Footnote. Lots of the links in my earlier posts have been removed - though they were all factual - usually with the links to external sources such as Companies House given. But Google does a brilliant job of caching MSE posts...

This is interesting as far as i`m aware if a company is in liquidation it`s assets have to be sold off and any excess funds have to be returned to creditors. Seems pretty pointless financially wise to take the panels off roofs. Would be amazed if creditors would consent to the panels being sold off cheaply to anyone connected to the old failed business so what happens to the FIT payments?

Having briefly read this thread seems like this was just a complete Scam and i`m sorry for anyone who was duped by this outfit/s.

    I wish you all a prosperous 2014.

  • My uncle signed a 25-year agreement for the free solar panels installed by Energy Reduction UK. The agreement was between Salcon Power (HK) Ltd. of Hong Kong (as 'tenant') and himself (as 'landlord').
So it looks as if the Energy Reduction company have transferred everything to the Hong Kong company.
