I am also an ex energy reduction surveyor/salesman, from the conversations i have had with people from head office with regards to my customers getting fitted and whats going to happen to deposits (199) that has been paid by customers, and they are giving wishy washy answers and trying to blag their way out of this situation, furthermore this company IS NOT REAL or MCS accredited and are therefore should not be trading.
yes it is true nsa was going to be installing the panels but now are not?! and no other installer has yet been found, as far as i know, to install these systems.
reps did not know what was going on.

[Text removed by MSE Forum Team] both need to see the consequences of their action.

A action through the Small Claim process of the County Court would cost very little-but of course entirely pointless if there are no assets to recover.

Does his large sprawling house, cars (inc at last look a Porsche with private plates & his wifes Audi Q8 with private plate) not count? It seems that its your money thats been paying for them all?!?!

No it doesn't-these will be his personal assets, not assets of the company. He'll have made sure of that.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • my husband and I signed an agreement with Energy Reduction Uk on 12th April 2012 for the installation of free solar panels on lease for 25years with FIT going to the company( the glossy leaflet says GlobalEnergi.co.uk, but the contract is with Energy Reduction Uk). The only requirement was that we had to have our loft insulated and buy a £45 Energy Performance Certificate . They asked for the name of our mortgage company and mortgage number ( which we gave). However, overnight we changed out minds . We phoned the local rep/surveyors to tell them of our decision the next day and also contacted the Energy Reduction UK business Centre in Redditch to tell them of our decision. We followed this with a recorded delivery letter to Reddich. I tried to send an email to the company as an extra confirmation - but it bounced back ...I was trying to find a postcode for the Birmingham address and this led me on an "internet odyssey" to complaints about the same address but with the name "Energy Saving Group" ? I don't know if its the same company as the one in your posts ...but the address is the same ?

REAL - Renewable Energy Assurance Limited - has a code of practice which is approved by the Office for Fair Trading (see here) and which gives 7 WORKING DAYS' COOLING OFF - even where a member is not required by law to do so.

    From the REAL website (here)

    • Our Members

Our members are firms selling or leasing small-scale renewable or low carbon heat or power generation unit who have agreed to comply with the REAL Assurance Scheme Consumer Code. This Code is backed by the Office of Fair Trading as part of its self-regulation initiative, the Consumer Codes Approval Scheme.

The website has a searchable list of 5410 members - in which Energy Reduction UK does NOT appear. From earlier posts by ERUK's former employees it would appear that ERUK canvassers were quite often asked whether the company was a member....

I suggest that if ERUK stonewalls you go straight to the Office for Fair Trading - maybe warn ERUK of your intention first. ERUK, as you will have read in my other posts, has lots of connections with the bust company - Energy Saving Group - which was the subject of hundreds of complaints to Trading Standards, was the focus of Watch Dog, Rip Off Britain, and local radio and newspapers.

On Energy Reduction UK website are its "Terms and Conditions" (here) with this:

    5. Cancellation
    a) Other than your rights your 7 days statutory cooling off period you have no right to cancel this agreement. You have no right to cancel due to the delay in obtaining consents or planning permissions or for the reasons beyond our reasonable control. However we may at our discretion consent to you cancelling this agreement within a 7 day written notice period from the date of this agreement. All sums due for payment after that date which arise from commitments entered into us for the performance of the work prior to the date of cancellation must be paid for. Energy Reduction UK reserves the right to cancel this agreement at our discretion.

I suggest you print out this web page today. And get a screen grab too (ERUK web pages have suddenly vanished after being mentioned on this forum!).

Apologies for not posting this with my previous post - only just found it. The quote - with its poor English! - has been cut and pasted directly from their web page. The failed Energy Saving Group had a long track record of NOT giving refunds and NOT installing free solar panels (even through third parties) - see endless posts in this thread. The links between Energy Reduction UK and the failed Energy Saving Group are listed in previous posts (links from here).

  • the address on the form you sign is is Energy Reduction UK, with the address " The Business Centre, Edward Street, Redditch, B97 6HA ". Maybe its a totally different company ? The glossy leaflet definitely says GlobalEnergi.co.uk , though ? Very weird ....

.....and of course "Mr J Manley" is, presumably, James Manley (aka James Michael Manley), who with Steven Dickson (aka Steve Dickson) were/are directors of Energy Saving Improvements Ltd, trading as Energy Saving Group, and registered in 2009, and are directors of Energy Reduction Surveying Ltd, trading as Energy Reduction UK, which was registered on 23rd August 2011 by which time people were already posting on MSE that they were not getting their "free solar" installed, nor were they getting their £500 refunded from Energy Saving Group.

    Watch Dog
and Rip Off Britain, and local media, carried stories on Energy Saving Group. Trading Standards reported they had received hundreds of complaints.

If anyone goes to the meeting please keep us posted.

There's more on the connections between Mr Manley, Mr Dickson, Energy Saving Group, Energy Saving Improvements Ltd, Energy Reduction Surveying Ltd, 696 Yardley Wood Road, Birmingham, B13 0HY, Business Centre, Edward St, Redditch B97 6HA, here and here - with lots more links to other posts and websites with info on companies, directors, etc.
