Just got a text from Vanquis, they've raised my credit limit to £1k from £250.....took them 7 or 8 months....
    ** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **
    ** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
    **SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***

Still think the cap progress is a waste of time though TBH,it means you now have to wait until 2012 for them to decrease your apr to 19.9% apr,but basically if you keep your report in order within the next 12 months you could apply for a card with a better apr than 19.9% anyhow..

yup it is lol! oh well might not activate it....

really want the sygma silver card

My OH got a reply today as to why he was declined a card with Santander; the reasons being too many searches, they mentioned over 12 month's. He has had 8 in 12 month's, then his limits on other cards!
I had a feeling it'd be a NO as he's using 55% of his available credit.
He did have to write in to them, as the automatic decline was pretty vague.

I never used to think too much about the searches and the effect, so according to them even 8 in a 12 month period is too much:eek:

I think i've finally confused myself (not hard I know, so stop sniggering brian!)

I signed up at JD Williams fully intending to use only my debit card to buy something and it tells me that I have £150 available to spend subject to further checks.

Have I been a complete and total t!t and signed up for credit rather than just an account type thing that keeps your details on file to make shopping faster?

Assuming I've gone down the t!t route, what are JD Williams like? Is it worth keeping regardless of it being a mistake and treating carefully like the cap one card or shall I cancel immediately?

And I know I sound like a complete idiot but I've just had an abcess drained in my face so I'm not up to speed today.

Thanks in advance everyone and huge smoochies

If you can can get the progress card can not see no reason why silver will not accept you,if you don't have many searches apply for the silver card if you already haven't..
